Boynton, 72, of Midland, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at her home. She was born September 25, 1931 in Midland and married Richard Boynton on April 4, 1953 in Midland. Survivors include her husband, Richard; sons and daughters-in-law James and Linda Boynton, of Bad Axe, and Randy and Robyn Boynton, of Midland; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Tom Gorham, of Midland; six grandchildren and a great grandson. Her son, Steven Boynton, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2004, at the Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 402 Rodd at Buttles, in Midland. Mrs. Boynton's family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Monday. Stanton Richard C. Stanton, 53, co-owner of Thumb Glass Company and life-long resident of Bad Axe, died at his home on Friday, July 16, 2004, under hospice care. He was born September 21, 1951 in Bad Axe and was the son of the late Carl and Lillian (Edwards) Stanton. Mr. Stanton was a graduate of Bad Axe High School, class of 1968. Together, with his brother Michael, he owned and operated Thumb Glass Company. He was a past member and attended the First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, photography and visiting with his family and friends. Richard is survived by two brothers: Dennis Stanton and his wife, Kyle, of Athens, Michigan, and Michael Stanton, of Bad Axe. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; one brother, Phillip Stanton; and one sister, Pamela Stanton. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2004, at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe. The Rev. William Wright, of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will take place at Verona Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Beloved wife of John, Jr.; loving mother of Martha Olsen and her husband, Tim; proud grandmother of Jamie, Tyler and Bryce; dearest daughter of Philip Koroleski and the late Reta Koroleski; sister of Marlene Pratt and her husband, Gary, Barbara Jimkoski and her husband, Larry, David Koroleski and his wife, Kathy, Marvin Koroleski and his wife, Vivian, Stanley Koroleski and his wife, Julie, Duane Koroleski and his wife, Carol; daughter-in-law of John and his wife, Virginia; sister-in-law of Henry Ruffini and Rosemary Mardeusz and her husband, Larry. Straky, 88, of Rochester Hills and formerly of Cass City, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, in Medi Lodge of Rochester Hills. Farver, 83, passed away Monday afternoon, July 19, 2004, at the Huron Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe. She was born in Detroit on September 24, 1920 to the late Clarence and Eva (Nex) Raville. On April 16, 1966, she was united in marriage to Clifford L. Farver at the Elkton Methodist Church, settling in Chandler Township and settling in Oak Beach in 1973. Mary worked as a legal secretary for several attorneys in the Detroit area until her marriage to Cliff. She worked at Active Industries for several years retiring in the early 1980s. Mary attended Elkton United Methodist Church, was a past member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary and the Sweet Adelines. Surviving are her husband, Clifford; two daughters, Carol Kastura and her husband, Joe, of Taylor, Jeanne Gregory, of New Port Richey, Florida; five grandchildren, Marianne, April, Laurie, Joe, and Richard; seven great-grandchildren, Cody, Christopher, Zack, Eva, Kyle, Catherine, and Jordan. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Gregory; and one great-grandson, Matthew. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2004, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Toner, 52, of Kinde, died Monday, July 19, 2004, at her home. She was born February 6, 1952 in Bad Axe, daughter of Felix and Frances (Kubacki) Polega. She and Kenneth Toner were united in marriage on October 20, 1973 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dwight Township. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. Sue was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and caring friend of many. She was formerly employed at Hamill Manufacturing and the U.S. Postal Service, serving at both the Kinde and Port Austin offices. She enjoyed being part of the volunteers program at the North Huron Elementary School. Sue cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed group camping trips. Sue also enjoyed flowers, traveling to new destinations, cake decorating, fishing with her children, and playing cards and board games. Thursday, July 22, 2004 William M. "Billy" Alexander William M. "Billy" Alexander, 49, of Bay Port, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon, following an apparent heart attack. Born in Pigeon on November 17, 1954, he was the son of Marie (Baur) Alexander and the late William Alexander, Sr. On June 29, 1985, Billy was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Libby" Brown in Bay Port. Billy was a current employee of the Bay Port Construction Company of Bay Port. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and enjoyed outdoor activities. Surviving are his wife, Libby Alexander, of Bay Port; twin daughters, Kayla Marie and Kelsey Anne Alexander, at home; mother, Marie Alexander, of Bay Port; sister, Jill Alexander, of Williamston; and three brothers, Greg Alexander and his wife, Char, of Bay Port, Pete Alexander and his wife, Becky, of Midland, and Brian "B.J." Alexander, of Alaska. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2004, in the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home of Pigeon with Elder Terry Brown, of the Community of Christ Church, officiating. Zulauf Mr. Elden "Al" G. Zulauf, 81, of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee and formerly of Ubly, passed away Monday, July 19, 2004, in Tennessee. He was born March 27, 1923 in Ubly to the late Jacob and Maude (Allen) Zulauf. He married Helen M. Schumacher on June 15, 1946 in Detroit. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2002. Al was a graduate of Ubly High School. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a sales representative for Sunshine Biscuit Company. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Al is survived by two sons, Paul Zulauf and his wife, Pamela, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Roger Zulauf and his wife, Sandra, of Rochester; one daughter, Karen Zulauf Smith and her husband, Will, of Boulder, Colorado; three grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Zulauf, of Ubly. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Roy Zulauf; two sisters, Helen Conran and Lourene Brown. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2004, at St. John Cemetery in Ubly. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly, will officiate. "Jack" Wooster, Esq. John L. "Jack" Wooster, 80, of Bay Port, passed away Monday, July 19, 2004, at his home. Jack was born to the late John and Dulcie (Noyes) Wooster on March 10, 1924 in Port Austin. He entered the United States Air Force on June 17, 1944, and was very proud of serving his country as a 1st Lieutenant fighter pilot, flying with the 14th Airborne "Flying Tigers" in a P51Mustang, the 'Cadillac of the sky,' during World War II. On February 6, 1946, he was united in marriage to Carolyn T. "Connie" Case, who survives him. Jack studied pre-law at Wayne State University beginning in 1946 and graduated from the Detroit College of Law in 1950. He passed the Michigan State Bar Exam in January, 1951 and practiced law in Royal Oak with Harold Hunter and Lincoln Mutual. He then formed the law firm Moore, Sills, Poling, and Wooster in Birmingham. In 1983, the Woosters retired to Bay Port. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn; his two children, John G. and Cecile Wooster and Gaylene R. Hileman; and his grandchildren, Timothy J. and Kristin Hileman, Alexis T. Wooster, and John C. Wooster. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2004, at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with the Rev. Tom Beachy officiating. Burial will be in Colfax Township Cemetery, Bad Axe.
