Bukoski, 76, of Ubly, died Friday, April 29, 2005, at his residence under Heartland Hospice care. Mr. Bukoski was born May 5, 1928 in Ubly, son of the late Vincent and Agnes (Peruski) Bukoski. He married Joeva Franzel on October 25, 1952 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg. He was a graduate of Sparling Country School. He farmed with his family. He was employed at Evans Products in Gagetown for eight years. He was a life-long parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Mr. Bukoski was a member of the Lemke's Body Shop Bowling team, the Cottick Bowling team, and the Snover Grain Company Bowling team. He enjoyed hunting and ice fishing. He played on softball teams in Ubly and Tyre. He enjoyed listening to Tigers baseball games. He is survived by his wife, Joeva Bukoski, of Ubly; six children, Kenneth Bukoski, of Ubly, Carl Bukoski and his wife, Sally, of Shepard, Mary Osentoski and her husband, Jack, of Ubly, Joseph Bukoski and his wife, JoEllen, of Cass City, Joann Volmering, of Harbor Beach, and Vincent Bukoski and his wife, Kelly, of Ubly; 14 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two brothers, Sylvester Bukoski. of Ubly, and Lawrence Bukoski and his wife, Marlene, of Ubly; four sisters, Eleanor Paszkowski, of Warren, Betty Ward and her husband, George, of Millington, Marie Wasierski, of Ubly, and Lillian Wojtas, of Warren; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Bukoski, of Ubly, and Margaret Bukoski, of Harbor Beach. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cari Lynn Bukoski; three brothers, Raymond, John T., and Melvin Bukoski; and three brothers-in-law, Chester Paszkowski, Sylvester Wasierski, and Robert Wojtas. A funeral Mass for Harry Bukoski will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2005, at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will preside. Leona McDonald Leona McDonald, 90, of Kinde, passed away Friday, April 29, 2005, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. She was born July 27, 1914 in Hume Township to the late Adam and Mary (Carmody) Conley. Leona graduated from Port Austin High School in 1932. She married Robert J. Schram in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1960. On January 25, 1964, she married Roland McDonald. He preceded her in death in January 2000. She is survived by on son, Ronald Schram and his wife, Geraldine, of Midland; three sisters, Uarda Rutley, of Bad Axe, Athlene DeRosia, of Westland, and Ila McNeil, of Oscoda; two grandchildren, Robert Schram and his wife, Sharon, of Midland, and Kelly Scoles and her husband, Wesley, of Midland; two great-grandchilden, Nicole and Daniel Schram; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Conley; one grandson, Michael Schram; and one sister, Wanda Bowling. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2005, at MacAlpine Funeral Home Gage Chapel in Kinde. The Rev. Scholtz Helen A. Scholtz, 85, of Harbor Beach, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005, in the long-term care unit of the Harbor Beach Community Hospital. Born in Harbor Beach on November 21, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda (Wolschleger) Booms. Helen and John Scholtz were united in marriage on June 14, 1938 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena. John preceded her in death on August 4, 1974. She was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach and enjoyed quilting and crocheting afghans for her family. Helen is survived by her three sons, Richard Scholtz and his wife, Patti, of Redondo Beach, California, Robert Scholtz and his wife, Debbie, of Chesterland, Ohio, and Brian Scholtz and his wife, Shelly, of Harbor Beach; ten daughters, Diane Volmering and her husband, Eugene, of Harbor Beach, Judyth Cremers and her husband, Tom, of Lessburg, Florida, Joan O'Neil and her husband, Gerry, of Center Harbor, New Hampshire, Elizabeth "Betti" Harder and her late husband, Mike, of Polk City, Florida, Marlene O'Connor and her husband, Pat, of Suttons Bay, Lorene Bronner and her husband, Wayne, of Frankenmuth, Margo Roth and her husband, Les, of Bad Axe, Sheri Crosswhite and her husband, Darrell, of Coleman, Dinise Rumler and her husband, Pat, of Leslie, and Carol Klein and her husband, Greg, of Montage; 43 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and two sisters, Mary Kramer, of Harbor Beach, and Florence Ramisch, of Palms. Young, 83, of Caro, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility after a long illness. She was born July 27, 1921 in Elkton to Daniel and Vida (McCullum) Stout. She married Gordon Lloyd Young September 2, 1939 in Elkton. He died August 1, 1998. Daphne worked in Pontiac and Wahjamega as an attendant nurse for over five years. She worked for Pontiac Motors for 10 years and for Waite's Department Store in Pontiac for about four years. Daphne was a member of Mayville Senior Citizens and Tuscola County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed painting ceramics, floral arranging and playing cards. Daphne is survived by her children, Richard "Dick" Young and his wife, Mary, of Orion, Donna Teets and her husband, James, of Imlay City, Judy McBride and her husband, Jerry, of Oxford; grandchildren, Vincent Young and his wife, Britta, Mike Young, Lisa Charles and her husband, Rich Charles II, Steve Teets, Greg Teets and Kay Thomas, Cindy Malinowski and her husband, Jerome, Brian McBride; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Audrey McBride and her husband, Robert, of Mt. Morris, Pat Young, of Port Hope, Helen Young, of Elkton; brother-in-law, John Young, of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Laura. Tuesday, May 3, 2005 Doreen Kay Genis Mrs. Doreen Kay Genis, 49, of Harbor Beach, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 30, 2005, at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. She was born May 14, 1955 in Bad Axe to Charles and Lillian (Krinkie) Gottschalk. She married Ronald Genis on July 7, 1973 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Kinde. Doreen lived in the Helena area for 31 years. She was employed at Opticare Vision Center in Bad Axe. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach and St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena. She loved her pets, Gizmo, Sable, Shadow, and Kallie. She enjoyed quilting and crafts, computer games, bingo, camping with her family, and riding motorcycles with her husband. There will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Marvin O. Matthews Marvin O. Matthews, 63, died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at his home following a brief illness. He was born May 19, 1941 in New Baltimore, son of the late Gilbert E. and Beatrice A. (Eisenhardt) Matthews. He was united in marriage to Lenora J. Hendershot on December 31, 1978 in Algonac. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2000. Marvin had been employed by the Ford Motor Company in Chesterfield Township for 30 years before retiring and moving from Wadhams to Caseville in 1994. He was a great craftsman and furniture maker. His passion was fishing and especially hunting all over the world. He just returned last week from a hunting trip in New Zealand. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Jeffrey Matthews and his wife, Kathryn, of Clarkston, Lyn Nuno and her husband, Dino, of Lakeport, California, Marvin O. Matthews, Jr. and his wife, Chris, of Mt. Clemens, and Stephen Matthews, of Scottsdale, Arizona; stepchildren, Douglas Hendershot, Jr., of Sandusky, Roxanne Norton and her husband, Dale, of Algonac, Michael Hendershot and his wife, Debbie, of Avoca, and Mark Hendershot, of Peck; three grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Stover and her husband, Bill, of New Baltimore. Wednesday, May 4, 2005 – No obituaries reported Thursday, May 5, 2005 Margaret Delores Battel Margaret Delores Battel, 82, of Cass City, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, in Tendercare, Cass City, after a short illness. She was born May 13, 1922 in Bay City to William and Mary (Gibson) Cowan. She married Lester J. Battel on October 23, 1954 in Kawkawlin. He died December 18, 1989. Margaret retired in 1984 after 18 years as a Cass City Public Schools Bus Driver. She was in fellowship at Hillside Gospel Hall. Margaret was happily married to Lester for more than 35 years. She liked crocheting, sewing, and tending her flower garden. Her family was very important to her. Margaret is survived by her children, Linda Stec and her husband, Michael, of Cass City, Paul Battel and his wife, Mary, of Cass City; grandchildren, Brandon, Preston, and Shannon Stec, Isaiah and Josiah Battel; twin sister, Mable Kay, of Marshall; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Dave, Kenneth, John and George Cowan. Kuck Hazel Kuck, 89, of Sebewaing, died Tuesday evening, May 3, 2005, at the Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Sandusky following a lengthy illness. She was born Febuary 11, 1916 in Brookfield Township, Huron County, daughter of the late John and Clara (Fritz) Pobanz. She was united in marriage to Albert W. Kuck on June 15, 1946 in Kilmanagh. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1989. Hazel was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. She enjoyed gardening and reading. Surviving are one daughter, Clara Ziehm, of Sandusky; two grandchildren, Kirk Ziehm and Shelly Chamberlin and her husband, Michael, all of Chicago; one sister, Dorothy Leitch, of Warren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Olin and Arnold Pobanz and one sister, Luella Born. Audrey Jean Webb Audrey Jean (Tschida) Webb, 77, of Harbor Beach, died Sunday evening, May 1, 2005, at Harbor Beach Community Hospital long term care unit. She was born January 14, 1928 in Grayling to the late Jesse and Hattie (Aurey) Webb. Audrey was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and cats. Surviving are two daughters and several grandchildren.
