Sunday, October 9, 2005 Jerry Budzynowski Mitchell "Jerry" Budzynowski, 63, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2005, at his home in Bad Axe after a fierce eight-year battle with colon cancer. He was born May 9, 1942 in Highland Park, son of Louise (Czackowski) Budzynowski and the late Ned. He graduated from Warren Consolidated Schools in 1959. Following graduation, he joined the Army. He served in the Army Military Police at Cape Canal, Panama. In 1963, he was hired at GM Hydromatic, Warren, where he worked until his retirement in November of 1995 from a supervisory position. Jerry and Marcie Sikoski were married September 9, 1985 in Bad Axe. Jerry was parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bad Axe, a former member of the Bird Creek Golf Course and loved hunting, golf, softball, cards, and most of all, he enjoyed making people smile. Surviving are his wife, Marcie; his mother, Louise Clawson; two sons, William Budzynowski and his wife, Heather, of Macomb Township, and David Budzynowski, of Warren; one daughter, Michele Budzynowski, of Clinton Township; one grandson, Joseph Mitchell Budzynowski; one granddaughter, Alysa Maxine Budzynowski; one brother, James Budzynowski, of Macomb Township. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bad Axe. The Rev. James Carlson, pastor, will officiate. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the H.W. Weitenberner Funeral Home, Bad Axe, where a parish scripture service will be conducted at 7 p.m. by Fr. John Killop. On Monday, visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. at the church. The family would like to thank Huron Medical Center and A & D Home Care. Special thanks to Dr. Tracy McComb for the kindness and compassion given to Jerry and his family during this trying time. Gauss Eric Joseph Gauss, 29, of Marysville, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, in Marysville. He was born March 19, 1976 in Royal Oak. Mr. Gauss loved music, cars, NASCAR models and Civil War history. His family said more than anything, he loved his two daughters. He married Stacey on May 24, 2002. He is survived by his wife of three years, Stacey; children, Amber Chevy-Lynn and Ruby Anne; parents, Robert and Linda Gauss, of Shelby Township; siblings, Scott (Mandy), Steven (Amy) and Kim; grandmother, Elizabeth Quick; great uncle, Jerry Quick; and godparents, Terry and Karen Quick. Garant, 89, of Caseville, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2005, at his home after a brave battle with cancer. Joe was born September 19, 1916 in the home of his late parents, Alex and Agnes (LaLonde) Garant, in Flint. Joe married Doris O'Connor in 1935 and she preceded him in death in 1981. He then married Evelyn Halleck in 1984, she also preceded him in death in 2000. Joe married Rose Marie (nee Maguire) Osmond on July 3, 2004 at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. Joe retired from General Motors in 1975 after 30 years of employment. When he retired, he was the superintendent of the Fisher Body Plant in Flint. Joe had participated in the sit-down strike in 1936 against GM. After many years of camping in Caseville, Joe moved there permanently in 1976. He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, the Caseville Eagles, and the Caseville Retirement Club. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, and spending time with his friends and family. Joe is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; daughters, Shirley (David) Teggerdine, of Howell, Betty (Dave) Clevenger, of Fenton, and Sally Justus, of Caseville; seven step-children; 15 great-grandchildren; and many step- grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest (Dorothy) Garant, of Holly; Leah Allard, of Indiana; and Lori (Verl) Winningham, of Fenton. He was preceded in death by his wives, Doris and Evelyn; daughter, Barbara Jean Stanfill; sisters, Edna Mills, Rose Stevens, and Lucille Forbes; and brothers, Andrew, William and Leonard Garant. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville, with Fr. Ken Jaroch presiding. Burial will be at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Caseville and from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Wednesday at the church. He was born on January 15, 1950 in Port Huron to Marjorie Murdick, of Snover and the late James "Jock" Murdick. He married Linda Nichol on November 10, 1973 in Sandusky. Mr. Murdick drove truck for more than 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Linda Murdick; two daughters, Heather (Charles) Williamson, of Sandusky, Holly (Bill Hartz) Murdick, of Snover; four grandchildren, Willy, Cody, and Chase Hartz, and Kendra Williamson; his mother, Marjorie Murdick, of Snover; one brother, John (Debra) Murdick, of Bay Port; two sisters, JoAnn (Will) Guenette, of Snover, and Janet Hoyt, of Snover; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, James "Jock" Murdick. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at the Hacker Funeral Parlors in Sandusky. Stacer, 71, of Ruth, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2005, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility after a long illness. She was born July 16, 1934 at home in Sherman Township to Felix and Josephine (Oswald) Kranz. She married Quentin Stacer July 11, 1953 in Ruth. He died August 25, 1997. Lucille graduated from Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School in 1952. After graduation, she worked in Detroit for Fruehauf Trailer. After their marriage, Lucille worked with her husband on their dairy farm in Sanilac County until 1976 when they moved to Ruth. She was an avid bowler, bowling on many leagues during the years and holding the offices of secretary and treasurer of the Women's Mixed League and served a term as secretary and treasurer of the local WBA chapter. Lucille was an active member of Farm Bureau. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, reading and playing cards with friends. Lucille was a life member of Parisville VFW Auxiliary Post No. 5740. She served as treasurer for 35 years and was a very active member. For 35 years, Lucille and Quentin marked veterans graves in five cemeteries in Sanilac County each year before Memorial Day. Lucille was a member of St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in Forestville. Lucille is survived by her brothers, Joseph (Lucille) Kranz, of Bellport, New York, John (Judy) Kranz, of Chico, California, James (Debra) Kranz, of Cass City; sister, Beverly (Paul Reifert) Kranz, of Chico, California; brother-in-law, Merlin (Magdelene) Stacer, of Ruth; sister-in-law, Cecilia Stacer, of Bad Axe; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Juanita (Nicholas) Clor, Harold (Loretta) Stacer, Jerome (Delores) Stacer, Wilfred Stacer, and Robert Stacer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2005, in St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in Forestville, with the Rev. Paul Bala presiding. William Zulauf William Zulauf, 74, of Sheridan Township near Bad Axe, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born September 11, 1931 to the late William H. and Anna (Schantz) Zulauf. He graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1949. William was united in marriage to Joyce Keillor on June 16, 1951 at the Bad Axe Presbyterian Church. He was employed at the Huron County Road Commission as the purchasing agent for more than 22 years and retired on October 1, 1994. He was a past master and a life-long member of the Verona-Huron Masonic Lodge No. 365 F&AM of Bad Axe. He also was a member of the Elf Kahurafeh Shriners in Saginaw, Huron Shriner Club, and the Shriner Hillbillys. William enjoyed announcing for the Ubly Dragway, Owendale Speedway, and the Thumb Tractor Pulling Association, of which he was a member for 30 years. William is survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons, William A. Zulauf and his wife, Celeste, of Thornton, Colorado, and James W. Zulauf and his wife, Doreen, of Ubly; one daughter, Holly J. Swackhamer and her husband, Larry, of Bad Axe; seven grandchildren, Heidi Becker and her husband, Joseph, William L. and Zachary Zulauf, of Thornton, Coloorado, Jeffrey Zulauf, of Saginaw, Jenna Zulauf, of Ubly, Jason Swackhamer and special friend, Amy Denton, of Saginaw, and Joshua Swackhamer and his wife, Nichole of Saginaw; one great-grandson, Layne Becker, of Thornton, Colorado; one brother-in-law, Wayne A. Montgomery Nancy R. Montgomery, 67, of Detroit, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2005, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Born in Detroit on December 21, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth (Stromske) Masterton. She married Alfred Montgomery in Detroit and was a retired employee of Wayne State University in Detroit. Surviving are her husband, Alfred Montgomery, of Detroit; her children, Michael and his wife, Julie, Douglas and his wife, Gail, Scott and his wife, Kerrie; grandchildren, Hannah, Madeline, John, Amanda, Hailey and Jack; and a brother, John Masterton and his wife, Barbara. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be conducted on Friday, October 14, 2005, at the Rock Falls Cemetery in Harbor Beach next to her mother's grave (Ruth Stromske). Thursday, October 13, 2005 Emma Dillow-Richter Emma Mary-Rose Dillow-Richter, infant, was born on July 22, 2005 and died suddenly on Saturday, October 8, 2005. Emma is the daughter of Robert Edward Richter and Lona Minoka Dillow. She is survived by her grandparents, Andrew and Ann Richter and Jeff and Jill Dillow; her uncle, Christopher Richter; and aunts, Sarah and Murphy Dillow, in addition to a large extended family who will all miss her. A celebration of the brief life of Emma Mary-Rose Dillow-Richter was conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at Hall-Wynne Chapel in Durham, North Carolina. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh, North Carolina. Friday, October 14, 2005 Charlie Mihacsi Charlie Mihacsi, 67, of Sebewaing, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City. He was born September 29, 1938 in Detroit, son of the late John and Helen (Pistro) Mihacsi, Sr. He was united in marriage to Margaret A. "Marge" Sigmund on July 9, 1960 in Sebewaing. Chuck had been employed at Industrial Brownhoist in Bay City, later at Grey Iron Foundry in Saginaw, and then at Delphi Motors, A.C., in Flint for 23 years before retiring in October 2000. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Sebewaing and the Knights of Columbus, Father Cahill Council of Unionville. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed picking mushrooms and especially loved being with his grandchildren and family. Surviving are his wife, Marge; two sons, one daughter and their spouses; Kurt and Carol Mihacsi, of Sebewaing; Brian Mihacsi and special friend, Bonnie Lewis, of Elkton; Jackie and Mark Rummel, of Port Huron; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Kimberly, Charlie, Jennifer, Gage and Deklan; two sisters, Rose Marie "Cookie" and Joe Sakon, of Unionville; Barbara and Ken Billingsley, of Linwood; sister-in-law, Eileen Mihacsi, of Akron; two brothers, John and "Mae" Mihacsi, of Unionville; Edward and Kay Mihacsi, of Caro; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Dillon; and one brother, Richard Mihacsi. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Fr. John Weis will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
