Koglin, 80, of Bad Axe, passed away Friday, August 12, 2005, at Courtney Manor. She was born on January 10, 1925 in Detroit. Marion had lived most of her life in the communities of Bad Axe, Ruth, and Port Hope. Her special interests included watching television, cooking, and visiting with her family and friends. She loved her grandchildren and they were special to her. She is survived by one daughter, Rosemarie M. Miller and her husband, Darwin, of Port Hope; one son, Timothy, of Bad Axe; three grandchildren, Robert Koglin and his wife, Vanessa, Jeffery Miller, and Kelly Friday, all of Port Hope; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Reinke and Kristine Russel; and a brother, Guss Neuman, of California. Also surviving are a half sister and brother. Marion was preceded in death by a son, August Koglin, and two brothers, Edward Neuman and Earl Neuman. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2005, at the MacAlpine Funeral Home-Gage Chapel in Kinde. Burial will follow. Visitation will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Monday, August 15, 2005 Thomas Dale Tageson Thomas Dale Tageson, 63, of Bad Axe, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born on September 7, 1941, son of the late William and Margaret (Meade) Tageson. He married Virginia Haller on October 27, 1962 at the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church. He retired from the Huron County Road Commission following 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy, and drove the Shriners bus for crippled children to the Chicago Children's Hospital. He was a member of the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a money counter. Tom was a member of the Shriners, Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star-Huronia Chapter 81, and a member of the Masonic Temple-Verona-Huron Lodge No. 365, where he was a lodge secretary and a lodge commander. He also served on the Masonic Council and College of Masonic Order. Thomas is survived by his wife, Virginia Tageson, of Bad Axe; two sons, Todd Tageson, of St. Louise, Missouri, and Timothy Tageson and his wife, Tina, of Cass City; one daughter, Tracy Ziel and her husband, Kim, of Elkton; one brother, William Tageson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Benicia, California; one special sister-in-law, Beverly Tageson, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Cory Ziel of Elkton, Moriah Tageson, of St. Louis, Missouri, Kelsey Ziel and Cassandra Ziel, of Elkton, and Tiana Tageson and Tasha Tageson, of Cass City; and his dog, Frisky, of Bad Axe. Proceeding him in death was one brother, Terry Tageson. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jan G. Dykshoorn, pastor. Burial will be in Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe and from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. A masonic service will be offered at 7:30 p.m. today followed by an eastern star service at 8 p.m., both at the funeral home. Memorials may be offered to the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church or to the masonic temple. Tuesday, August 16, 2005 Bryan J. Christensen Bryan J. Christensen, 15, a lifelong resident of Marlette, died Saturday, August 13, 2005, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. He was born August 7, 1990 in Lapeer, son of Earl Christensen and Amy Eagle. He was starting 10th grade at Marlette High School. Bryan enjoyed playing football, basketball, motorcycles, and hunting. He is survived by father, Earl Christensen II and his wife, Holly, of Marlette; mother, Amy Eagle, of Pigeon; brother, Earl Christensen III of Marlette; twin sisters, Ashley and Haley Christensen, of Marlette; grandparents, Earl and Barb Christensen, of Brown City, Dale and Joann Eagle, of Melvin; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins and step-grandparents. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with the Rev. Kenneth R.M. Norcross officiating. Interment will be in the Marlette Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m. today and from noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette. Memorials may be donated to the family. Leona Pelkey Leona Pelkey, 69, of Harbor Beach, passed away Monday, August 15, 2005, at Courtney Manor Nursing Center in Bad Axe following an extended illness. Born in Mt. Clemens on December 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late David Joseph and Carrie Irene (Chase) Pelkey. Surviving are a sister, Diana Gurzick, of Harrison Township, and two brothers, Clayton Pelkey, of Mt. Clemens, and Alfred Pelkey, of Coldwater. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Sonnie, Arnold, Walter, Edwin, and Arthur Pelkey; and sister, Leora Pelkey. A graveside service will be conducted in the Clinton Grove Cemetery in Clinton Township at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2005. Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach. Wednesday, August 17. 2005 Lester Paul Hunyadi Lester Paul Hunyadi, 95, of Caseville, died Tuesday morning, August 16, 2005, at his home. He was born April 26, 1910 in Ered, Hungary (near Budapest) to the late Victor and Maria (Koncsek) Hunyadi. Lester went to trade school to become a cabinetmaker. He came to the United States in 1930, settling in Hamtramck, and found work in a foundry. On April 27, 1935, he was united in marriage to Irene Novak at All Saints Catholic Church in Detroit. Lester began working for the J. L. Hudson Company in the late thirties, retiring in 1972. That same year they moved to Caseville. He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, Caseville Eagles Club and the Knights of Columbus No. 8042 Caseville-Pigeon. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Meyer and her husband, Greg, of Caseville; granddaughter, Michelle, her husband, Doug Wiederhold and family, Heather, Holly and Dave Webb, their children, Angel and Alexis; Kory and his wife, Janelle; Heidi and Kyle; grandson, Jeff, his wife, Kim, their children, Amber and Matt Beyer and Ashley Meyer; grandson, Mark, his wife, Lesa Meyer and children, Andy, his daughter, Madison; Christopher, Laura, Emily and Erin. Also surviving are two sisters- in-law, Rosemarie Hunyadi, of Roseville, and Carol Werner, of Heartland; dear friends, Grace McKinzie, of Pigeon, Harold Leach and Mae Farmer, both of Caseville. Preceding him in death was his son, Michael; two brothers, John and Victor Hunyadi; and a sister, Irene Kovack. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 19, at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville with Fr. Kenneth Yaroch presiding. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville, and from 10 a.m. on Friday until the time of Mass at church. Condolences may be shared online at www.cfcCaseville.com Ervin Lemke Mr. Ervin Lemke, 88, of Ubly, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at Huron Medical Center. He was born December 30, 1916 in Detroit to the late Lawrence and Theresa (O'Parka) Lamke. He married Irene Zurek on August 27, 1938 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. Ervin farmed in Parisville. He worked for Murray Bodies in Detroit for six years. He was a custodian at St. Mary's. He and Irene moved to Tyre in 1943, where he was a member of the school board. He was the owner of Lemke Body Shop for many years. He was employed at Active Industries for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a parishioner at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly since 1943. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Bad Axe Council No. 1546. He loved to dance, play cards, fish with his grandchildren, and play his violin at the Argyle Senior Dinners. Ervin, after a beautiful marriage of 67 years, is survived by his wife, Irene, of Ubly; one son, Albert Lemke and his wife, Doris, of Ubly; one daughter-in-law, Carol Lemke, of Ubly; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mamie "Marie" Peruski, of Ubly, Evelyn Susalla and her husband, Jacob, of Ubly, Arlene Longuski and her husband, Jerry, of Ubly; four brothers, Cass Lamke and his wife, Ruby, of Bad Axe, Elmer Lamke, of Ubly, Eugene Lamke and his wife, Mildred, of Parisville, Richard Lamke and his wife, Barbara, of Ubly. He was preceded in death by two infant sons; an infant daughter, Mary; one son, Eugene Lemke; one brother, Raymond Lamke; one brother-in-law, Frank Peruski. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2005, at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will preside. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today, from 1 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church. There will be a joint rosary at 7 p.m. today by the Knights of Columbus and the Daughters of Isabella, and a parish vigil service at 8 p.m. on Thursday. Both services will be at the funeral home. Ada Wood Ada Wood, 87, of Pigeon, died Wednesday afternoon, July 27, 2005, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2005, at Country Garden in Pigeon. Pastor Dave Freeland will officiate. Thursday, August 18, 2005 Robert John Hogan Robert John Hogan, 56, of Bushnell, Florida, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2005, in Leesburg, Florida. He was born in Bad Axe. Robert was a contractor in the construction industry. He attended First Baptist Church of Bushnell, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Deborah G. Hogan, of Bushnell, Florida; son, Russell Hogan, of Bushnell, Florida; daughter, Rachael Hogan, of Bushnell, Florida; sisters, Connie Martin, of Bushnell, Florida, JoAnn Gage, of Michigan, Anna Wuhler, of Nebraska; granddaughter, Karsyn Delaney Hogan, of Bushnell, Florida; grandson, Ethan Robert Hogan, of Bushnell, Florida; and father, Robert Russell Hogan, of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Virginia Hogan; and sister, Patricia Ann Beiderman. Soper Nelson Mrs. Elma L. Soper (Cranston) Nelson, 91, of Shattuck Manor in Saginaw, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005, after a brief illness. Elma L. Cranston was born April 8, 1914 in Bingham Township and graduated from Ubly High School. On October 18, 1932, she was married to Sidney M. Nelson, and they resided on a rural farm near Bad Axe for 45 years until his death in 1977. She was a dedicated homemaker. She also had been employed as a nurse at the Huron County Medical Facility for 15 years until her retirement. She moved to Saginaw and was married to Leonard Soper from 1986 until his death in 1994. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her daughters: Ethel Nelson Snuggs and her husband, Edwin, of Durham, North Carolina, Florence Nelson Riddle and her husband, Irvin, of Saginaw, Marilyn Nelson Smith and her husband, Jerold, of Rockford; six grandchildren, Terri Snuggs Northrup, Ronald E. Snuggs, Kenneth I. Riddle, Denise Riddle Budge, Dr. Richelle L. Smith, and Samantha Smith Kamil; six great- grandchildren; her sister, Ilene C. Gross, of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Cranston and Flossie Philp Cranston, her husband(s), Sidney Nelson and Leonard Soper; her son, 1st Lt. Mervin L. Nelson; her infant son, Ronald James Nelson; and her sister, Murneta Stambaugh. Memorials may be made to the First Free Methodist Church, VNA/Hospice: Partners in Caring, or the charity of their choice. Friday, August 19, 2005 Robert W. Rocheleau Mr. Robert W. "Bimbo" Rocheleau, 63, of Grant Township, passed away Monday, August 15, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Port Huron on April 30, 1942, the son of Victor and Viola (Spencer) Rocheleau. His wife, Judith, whom he married on May 25, 1968, passed away on January 20, 2005. Bob was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church in Gagetown. He was a milk hauler for more than 43 years, and was a member of Michigan Steelheaders Association. He and his wife, Judy, were especially proud of the German shepherds they raised and loved. Surviving are his mother, Viola Rocheleau, of Bay City; a sister, Frances Wyant and her husband, Richard, of Clarkston; three step- children; several special friends; and many cousins. A sister, Sandra Kay Rocheleau, passed away in infancy and his father, Victor, passed away in 1970. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2005, at St. Agatha Church, with Joan Wyskiel, pastoral administrator, presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Gagetown Funeral Chapel and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. The family has suggested memorials to the Robert W.
