Gannon, 79, of Port Austin, died Thursday, May 26, 2005. He is survived by a sister, Mary Ellen, of St. Johns, seven children, 12 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Port Austin. Richard L. "Dick" Jarvis Richard L. "Dick" Jarvis, 68, of Pigeon (formerly of Frankenmuth and Mount Pleasant), passed away Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care. He was born May 15, 1937 to Howard and Viola (Mitchell) Jarvis, and was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Berne. He attended Pigeon High School, graduating in 1955, and studied banking at Northeastern School of Business; Graduate School of Banking at University of Michigan; National School of Real Estate Finance at Ohio State University; National School of Commercial Lending at University of Oklahoma; and the American Management Association, Senior Management Program. He married Lou Ann Elftman at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon on December 12, 1964. Dick was a banker at Frankenmuth State Bank and New Century Bank from 1964 to 1986, and Firstbank, Mount Pleasant, until retiring in 2000. He was a member of Cross Lutheran Church, Pigeon, as well as an active former member of Trinity Lutheran in Reese, St. Lorenz Lutheran in Frankenmuth, and Immanuel Lutheran in Mount Pleasant. He always supported and became involved in working for the community in which he lived. Dick will also be remembered for his love of singing and music, his firm handshake and kissing ladies on the cheek. He is survived by his wife, Lou Ann Jarvis, of Pigeon; sons, John Jarvis and Tom Jarvis, of Orlando, Florida; a sister, Joyce Kretzschmer and her husband, Larry, of Pigeon; brothers, Dennis Jarvis, of Pigeon, and David Jarvis and his wife, Joyce, of Anaheim, California; sisters-in-law and brothers-in- law, Loren and Dolores Elftman, of Pigeon, Marian and Dick Freeland, of Freeland, Elaine and Ray Errer, of Bad Axe, Leon and Leil Elftman, of Pinconning, and Clark Elftman, of Bay Port; aunts, Ruth Jarvis, of Bay City, and Lucille Hahn, of Unionville; an uncle, Bob Jarvis and his wife, Betty, of Port Huron; special friends, Steve, Jan, Joshua and Jeff Szymanski, Carol Bruneel and Leona Brechtelsbauer; as well as many dear friends and special nieces and nephews with whom he enjoyed spending his time. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Viola Jarvis; his in-laws, Henry and Minnie Elftman, and friends, Mel and Willie Brechtelsbauer. Lowe, 72, of Snover, died suddenly Saturday, May 28, 2005, in Hills & Dales General Hospital in Cass City. He was born December 17, 1932 at home in Argyle Township to James Hudson and Norma (McAllister) Lowe. He married Wenola M. Helwig on May 19, 1956 in Cass City. Bob worked about 10 years for Active in Marlette, about 20 years plastering for Frank Chippi, and was a dairy farmer his entire working life. He was a former member of the Ubly Fox Hunters Club and a member of the Michigan State Fox Hunting Club. Bob enjoyed deer, fox and coyote hunting. He loved his hound dogs. Bob recently built a coyote pen for his dogs called Six L's Pine Tree Pen. Bolzman, 73, of Sebewaing, died unexpectedly Monday evening, May 30, 2005, at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City. She was born June 8, 1931 in Akron Township, daughter of the late John and Sophie (Krauss) Fischer. She was united in marriage to Floyd E. Bolzman on August 27, 1955 in Unionville. Marion was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh, where she had been very active. Her passion was cooking. Surviving, besides her husband, Floyd, are one son, Lee Bolzman and his wife, Michelle, of Owendale; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Chelsea Bolzman; four sisters, Frieda Scharich, of Akron, Alma Wagner and her husband, Matt, of Reese, Emma Ewald and her husband, Donald, of Caro, and Arlene Kroll, of Sebewaing; one brother, Dwayne Fischer and his wife, Mary Lou, of Bay City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Lynn Bolzman; one sister, Beverly Perry; and three brothers, Otto, Rueben and Henry Fischer. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2005, at St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. The Rev. Jonathan Meyer will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. (Dropiewski) Bruce, 68, of Waterford, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2005. She was the loving wife of Robert, the dear mother of Mike Chocianowicz, Cathy Geiger, Jan Chocianowicz, and Steve Hutch; the step-mother of Victoria Menard and Sheri Cushman; the grandmother of six; the great-grandmother of two; the sister of Arlene (Jim) Jones, Phyllis (Dennis) Messing, and Diane (Dan) Messing; and the sister-in-law of Virginia Dropiewski. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Donald Bruce, her brother, Richard Dropiewski, and her parents, Anthony and Martha. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Mt. Charles A. Drier Sgt. Charles "Chuck" Allen Drier, 28, of Caro, was killed in action on Tuesday, May 24, 2005, in Baghdad, Iraq. He was born May 15, 1977 in Caro. Chuck graduated from Unionville-Sebewaing Area High School in 1995. He played football and ran track, enjoyed snowboarding and the Detroit Red Wings. He was a talented artist and showed promise of being a talented writer. Chuck worked for a few years for the Capri Restaurant in Caro and worked for Thomas Roofing in Cass City before joining the Army in 2001. Chuck was part of the opening attack on Baghdad that started the war there in 2003. Chuck is survived by his mother, Mary (Mark Hill) Drier, of Unionville; father, Michael and Sabrina Drier and children, of Unionville, Tennessee; daughter, Bailie Lockhart, of Caro; brother, Jason (Raquel Torrez) Drier, of Caro; girlfriend, Amanda Altznauer, of Savannah, Georgia; aunt, Lynn Dillon and her husband, Gary, of Cass City; uncle, Joseph Brandmair and his wife, Sara, of Caro; Bailie's mother, Amanda Lockhart, of Caro; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen and Courtland Drier, and Frances and Leo Brandmair. Henry Lee "Whitey" Forstner Henry Lee "Whitey" Forstner, 72, of Tiffin, Ohio and formerly of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2005, at St. Francis Home in Tiffin, Ohio. Lee was born July 3, 1932 in Harbor Beach to the late Henry and Maxine (Smith) Forstner. He and Mary Ann (Folk) Forstner were married on July 16, 2004 in the First Lutheran Chapel of Tiffin. Lee was a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and he was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Tiffin and the Tiffin Moose Lodge. Lee retired after working 30 years in the Powerhouse at General Motors in Flint. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Tiffin; son, William Forstner and his wife, Shirley, of Harbor Beach; daughters, Cheryl LeVerette and Darlene Forstner, both of Flint, and Jessica Sillings and her husband, Donavon, of Graceville, Florida; two step-sons, Monty and Ricky Folk, both of Tiffin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Kretchman, of Harbor Beach, and Edith Miller and her husband, Alex, of Aurora, Illinois; step-children, Brenda Miller, of Tiffin, Larry and Linda Keckler, of Tiffin, and Judy and Kevin Clark, of Wyoming. Long, 74, of Harbor Beach, passed away Monday, May 30, 2005, at his home with hospice care and his family at his side. Born in Sand Beach Township on January 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Pranke) Long. He attended the East Huron Country School for eight years and was a graduate of the Harbor Beach Community Schools. On June 3, 1961, Ken and Elaine Sharp were united in marriage in Harbor Beach. Elaine preceded him in death on September 15, 1991. Ken was a retired farmer and a former employee of the Minden Elevator in Minden City. Surviving are his children, Ronald Long and his wife, Tammy, of Mayville, and Debora Pawlowski and her husband, James, of Harbor Beach; three grandchildren, Jared and Brandon Long and Kenny Pawlowski; two sisters, Dorothy Brown and her husband, Fred, of Saginaw, and Esther Bebertz, of Bridgeport; and a sister-in-law, Neoma Long, of Harbor Beach. Ken was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Long; and a brother-in-law, Sam Bebertz. Eleanor was born on September 22, 1914 to the late Joseph and Mary (Cook) Goniwicha. She received her education from Eccles School. She then married Joseph Bouvrette on January 29, 1934 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. Joseph Bouvrette preceded her in death on August 14, 2004. Eleanor enjoyed playing bingo, cards and embroidery. Thursday, June 2, 2005 – No obituaries reported Friday, June 3, 2005 Laura Bell Klee Laura Bell Klee, 92, of Minden City, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2005, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Laura was born August 8, 1912 in Sheridan Township to the late Joseph and Mary (Holshoe) Woolner. She married Frank Klee Sr. on January 17, 1934 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1984. She was a graduate of Minden City School. She assisted in the Home Economics Department at the Ruth School for years. She also farmed with her husband. She was a former parishioner of Our Lady of the Golf Shores of Orange Beach, Alabama. She was a current parishioner at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She was also a parishioner of St. Thomas by the Sea in Orange Beach, Alabama. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Fidelis Region Circle #608 of Bad Axe. Laura and her husband wintered for many years in Orange Beach, Alabama. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed tating and was a 4-H leader for 40 years of the Kelly Kutters 4-H Club. Laura is survived by three daughters, Shirley Wrubel and her husband, Irvin, of Mio, Marge Parmann and her husband, Don, of Ruth, Beverly Klee, of Portage, Indiana; six sons, Frank Klee, Jr. and his wife, Ruth, of Minden City, Harold Klee and his wife, Cheryl, of Livonia, John Klee and his wife, Peggy, of Ann Arbor, Donald Klee and his wife, Marilyn, of Bad Axe, Robert Klee and his wife, Marilyn, of Minden City, Richard Klee and his wife, Linda, of Las Vegas, Nevada; 33 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clayton Woolner and his wife, Marian, of Milan; sister-in-law, Eileen Gillis, of Ypsilanti. She was preceded by a brother, Arthur Woolner; two half brothers, Norman Gillis and J.D. Gillis; and one half sister, Virginia Olstein. Peter and Paul Church, Heartland Hospice, Deckerville Hospital or the donor's choice. Ronald T. Mazure Ronald T. Mazure, 65, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 28, 2005, at home. Formerly of Rochester Hills, Ronald was born July 5, 1939 in Cass City, the son of Thomas and Helen Mazure. Ron was a graduate of Macomb County Community College. He was proud of his service in the Air Force Reserve, and had been a member of the Sterling Heights Jaycees. Ron had a 40-year real estate appraisal career, including 26 years at First Federal of Michigan, and established an independent appraisal service. He was a highly respected member of the Appraisal Institute, and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, for which he also served as president. He was active in the communities in which he lived, working on several boards and committees in Sterling Heights and Rochester Hills, as well as running for public office. Ron enjoyed 37 years as the husband of Kathleen, with whom he loved traveling. They were able to see all 50 states, several countries and continents. Highlights of his travel included traversing the Panama Canal and walking on the Great Wall of China. He was an avid sports fan and also loved boating, bird-watching, reading, fishing, cruising around Northern Michigan in his convertible, and walks with his friend, Jack. He was especially moved by nature, and spent much time gazing at the beauty of the lake on which on he lived since his retirement. Many friends spoke often of Ron's calm temperament and easy-going personality, as well as his quirky good humor and ability to see the light side of any situation. Ron will be greatly missed by his wife Kathleen (Lukas); their four children, Steven (Amy), Mark (Jennifer), Jason, and Amy Maar (Todd); his three grandchildren, Parker, Amanda and Liam; and his brother, Dale (Delores). He was also looking forward to the arrival of his fourth grandchild in July. Ron's children and their educational achievements were great sources of pride for him. Private services have been conducted, and an open house memorial gathering is scheduled from 3:30 until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2005, at Alfoccino's Restaurant, 2225 N.
