Colberg Viola Elizabeth Colberg, 87, of Pigeon, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006, at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. She was born in Detroit on September 22, 1918, daughter of the late William and Lillian Rose (Kaczor) Wojcinski. On December 24, 1964, she was united in marriage to Albert Colberg in Mount Clemens. He survives her. Mrs. Colberg was a homemaker throughout her lifetime. In addition to her husband, Albert, to whom she has been married for more than 41 years, she is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann and her husband, Norman Gladych, of Caseville, Veronica Davenport, of Florida, Betty Ann Garlick, of Beaverton, and Mildred German, of Kentucky; a son, George Jacob, of Florida; and many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Jayes; and a granddaughter, Brenda Gladych. A private committal service will take place later in the spring. Dianne Thornton Garwood Dianne (Thornton) Capps Garwood, 62, of Sand Point, passed away after a short illness on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Northwood Meadows in Cass City. She was born in Lafayette, Georgia on September 12, 1943 to Clayton and Ola Thornton, and graduated in 1961 from Hazel Park High School. She received a B.A. in education from Western Michigan University in 1965 and her master's degree was received from Saginaw Valley State University. On March 27, 1989, she was united in marriage to Glen D. Garwood at Clearwater, Florida. He survives her. For 27 years, Dianne was a teacher at Lincoln High School in Warren. She retired to Sand Point in Caseville Township in 1993, where she was a member of Scenic Golf & Country Club, Pigeon, as well as the F.O.E. No. 3690 Ladies Auxiliary, Caseville. In addition to her husband, Glen David Garwood, she is survived by her mother, Ola Thornton; a sister, Jan (John) Lang; three step-sons, Craig Garwood, David (Jill) Garwood, and Ted (Lori) Garwood; a nephew, John "Johnnie" (Kim) Lang; a niece, Michelle (Michael) Bruno; five grandchildren; and three great- nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. A private family memorial celebration will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant Visiting Nurse Association or the University of Michigan Taubman Center in Ann Arbor. Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, is handling the arrangements. Kevin J. Jensen Kevin John Jensen, 48, born June 11, 1957, died suddenly Sunday, February 26, 2006, in Seattle, Washington. Kevin loved to travel throughout the United States, more recently traveling between Nebraska and Washington State. He worked in building maintenance. He is survived by his father, Jack (Karen) Jensen, of Pigeon; two sons, Alex and Luke, of Detroit; six brothers and sisters, Karen Jensen, of Ogden, Utah, Kurt Jensen and his wife, Carol, of Centerville, Virginia, Krista Nugent, of Sebewaing, Jeffrey Jensen, of Caseville, Frantz Jensen and his wife, Kitty, of Kinross, and Elizabeth Jensen and her husband, Jay, of Commerce; and 13 nieces and nephews. His mother, Dolores, preceded Kevin in death on June 24, 1981. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday before the memorial service. C. Elizabeth "Betty" Young C. Elizabeth "Betty" Young, 91, of Caseville, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital in Howell after a lengthy illness. Betty was born February 16, 1915 in Clare to the late Wesley and Edith (Canfield) Lattimore. She grew up in Coleman where she met and married her husband, Francis, on February 16, 1936. After getting married, she moved to Detroit and later to Royal Oak while working as a beautician. The family began vacationing in Caseville in 1965 and Betty and her husband moved there permanently in 1973. She was a former member of the Caseville Eagle's Auxiliary, Caseville Library Club and the Caseville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and visiting with friends and family. Betty is survived by her daughter, Jill (Ken) Hammond, of Inverness, Illinois, and Don (Cindy), of Milford; grandchildren, Kelly, Kim, Tracy, Lisa, and Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Morgan, Ryan, Andi, Joseph, Daniel, Evan, Brendan, Riley, Brady, Keegan and Keira. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1987 (after 50 years of marriage), and a grandson, Ryan. Funeral services will be at noon on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery. Elenbaum Merrill Herbert Elenbaum, 98, of Mayville and formerly of Sebewaing, passed away Friday, March 3, 2006, at his son's home in Mayville. He was born in Winsor Township on September 27, 1907, son of the late Alfred and Martha L. (Gregor) Elenbaum. He graduated from Winsor Country School. On June 28, 1928, he was united in marriage to Wilma A. Terrill at the Terrill family farm in Fairhaven Township. Wilma passed away on November 15, 1997 after nearly 70 years of marriage. Mr. Elenbaum was a well- known farmer in the community, farming throughout his lifetime. He was a former member of the Michigan Sugar Board at the Sebewaing plant as well as a former member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association and the Farm Bureau. He was an active member of the Kilmanagh United Methodist Church where he served on the church board. In addition, he was active at Bay Shore Evangelical Camp in Sebewaing. Mr. Elenbaum was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by two sons, Budd (Mary Lou) Elenbaum, of Pigeon, and Ronald (Marilyn E.) Elenbaum, of Mayville; two daughters-in-law, Marjorie Elenbaum and Marilyn A. Elenbaum, both of Sebewaing; a son-in-law, Lyle Thompson, of Clyde; 19 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle Pringle, of Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Thompson; three sons, Junior Merrill, Sherl "Jake", and Gerald; two sisters, Dorothy Shupe and Virginia Niebel; and four brothers, Robert, Lloyd, Ralph, and Donald. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at the Kilmanagh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Douglas Mater and the Rev. Larry Elenbaum officiating. Blanche Pawlosky Blanche Dorothy Pawlosky, 90, of Bad Axe and formerly of Minden City, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe. She was born June 1, 1915 in Minden City to the late Walter and Sophia (Kulish) Kowalski. On October 28, 1939, she was united in marriage to Joseph Pawlosky in Parisville. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1987. Mrs. Pawlosky was a resident of Bad Axe for 17 years. Before moving to Bad Axe, she lived in Minden City and Mt. Pleasant. For several years, she was a clerk for Minden City and a cook and teacher's assistant for the Minden and Ubly Schools. She was a hard worker who was involved in the Special Olympics and cared for the mentally handicapped. She enjoyed life, drinking coffee, and reading the Detroit Free Press. She loved swimming, bridge, pinnochle, and Scrabble. She especially enjoyed being with family and friends and baking. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe and also of the VFW Army Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by six sons, Joseph (Susan) Pawlosky, of Oklahoma, James (Marilyn) Pawlosky, of Bad Axe, Charles (Cheryl) Pawlosky, of Wisconsin, Jerome "Whitey" (Beverly) Pawlosky, of Ubly, Robert (Mary Pat) Pawlosky, of Virginia, and Mark (Jennifer) Pawlosky, of Washington State; three daughters, Margaret "Peg" Shihadeh, of Okemos, Mary (Brian) Jones, of Georgia, Christine (Robert) Becker, of Illinois; four brothers, John (Eleanor) Kowalski, of Minden City, Chester (Mary) Kowalski, of Florida, Thomas Grifka, of California, and Robert (Nicky) Grifka, of Warren; 26 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome and Harold Kowalski; one sister, Mary Sadro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe with Fr. James Carlson presiding. Harold Sprague Harold Richard "Skeek" Sprague, 79, of Bay Port, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Tendercare in Cass City. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at the Bay Port United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Anderson Josephine (Beadle) Anderson, 87, of Caseville, died in her home on Monday, March 6, 2006, after a long illness while under hospice care. Josephine was born on February 13, 1919 in Caseville to the late George and Frances (Nicklas) Beadle. She grew up in Caseville and graduated from Bay Port High School. She married Charles J. Anderson of Detroit on November 23, 1939 at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. She moved to Detroit and lived there until returning to Caseville in 1971. After retiring, she and her husband spent many winters in Florida and Texas. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church and the Caseville American Legion, Jean Post 543. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and knitting. Josephine is survived by her children, Joan Makowski, of Florida, George (Ann), of Plymouth, Kathleen (Jerry) Rechul, of Lexington, Leona (Ron) Randall, of Redford, Michael (Patty), of Florida, and Charles Jr. (Pam), of Texas; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren; siblings, Marion Parent, of Caseville, Harold (Betty) Beadle, of Georgia, Leona (Fred) Langley, of Caseville, Albertus Beadle, of Caseville; Francis (Thelma) Beadle, of Caseville, Jesse Otto, of Pigeon, and Herbert (Jean) Beadle, of Westland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 2000 (after 60 years of marriage); son- in-law, Aloysuis; brothers, William, George, and Thomas Beadle; and sister, Geraldine Parent. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville with Fr. Ken Yaroch presiding. Frank Bambach Mr. Frank Bambach, 97, of Port Austin, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Courtney Manor. He was born March 4, 1909 in Pennsylvania to the late Nick and Elizabeth (Remsing) Bambach. He married Helen Schroth in May of 1942. She preceded him in death on February 9, 1982. He then married Theresa Osentoski on September 12, 1987. Frank was an honest gentleman. He loved nature, the trees, and all the animals that God created. In 1939, he opened a general mechanic business in Pinnebog, which he owned for 30 years. He was a member of Senior Citizens and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and visiting with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Theresa, of Bad Axe; two sons, Franklin (Jane) Bambach, of New Hampshire, and Nick (Sandra), of Iowa; four step-children, Brian (Heather) Adams, of Detroit, Laura Adams, of Detroit, Beatrice (Eugene) Boggess, of Eastpointe, and Jeanne (Brian) Craig, of Potterville; seven step- grandchildren, Drew Adams, Brooke Adams, Tarina (Russ) Myris, Melissa (Dan) Johnson, Kyle Craig, Stephanie Craig, and Andrew Craig; two step-great-grandchildren, Dillon and Emily Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Nickolas, John, Jacob, Anthony, and William; and six sisters, Sophie, Elizabeth, Kate, Magdalene, Susan, and Theresa. "Dee" Laudicina, 83, of Pigeon (Caseville Township), passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006, at home. She was born in Belair, Ohio on January 31, 1923, daughter of the late Beagio and Domenica (Variala) Molina. On April 23, 1960, she was united in marriage to James V. "Jay" Laudicina in Clawson. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2004. Mr. and Mrs. Laudicina retired to the Huron County area in the late 1980s. She was a homemaker throughout her lifetime, enjoying crafting, gardening, and working in her yard. She was known as a great cook. She loved and cared dearly for her dog, Prince. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. She is survived by a grandson, Jeff Sundwall, of Florida; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Betty Molina, of Waterford; and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children, Ray Laudicina and Margie Sundwall; and a sister, Helen Radabaugh. A scripture wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2006, at the Meyersieck- Bussema Funeral Home in Pigeon with Fr. Kenneth Yaroch presiding. The committal service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Southfield. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Wednesday, March 8, 2006 Robert John Knoblock Robert Knoblock, 77, of Sterling Heights and formerly of Port Austin, died Monday, March 6, 2006, at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy. He was born on October 11, 1928 in Dwight Township, son of the late Jack and Gertrude (Yaroch) Knoblock. He married Mary J. Jenik on July 28, 1963 in Detroit. She preceded him in death on January 29, 1995 after 31 years of marriage. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He also was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin. Robert is survived by two sisters, Marie (Clarence) Romes, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Joan (Ed) Driscoll, of Dexter; four aunts, Josephine and Genevieve Yaroch, both of Port Austin, Christine Yaroch, of Marlette, and Josephine Rutz, of Port Austin; an uncle, Louis Yaroch, of Bad Axe; two sisters-in-law, Louise Krease, of Bay City, and Carole Krease, of Walled Lake; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Knoblock, Joseph and Fred Krease; and his step-father, Fred Krease. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin. Presiding will be the Rev. Robert Paré, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde. There will be a vigil service at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Thursday, March 09, 2006 Floyd E. Bolzman Floyd E. Bolzman, 75, of Sebewaing, died Thursday morning, March 9, 2006, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe following a six-month illness. He was born September 2, 1930 near Sebewaing, son of the late Herman and Ida (Haag) Bolzman. He was a 1948 graduate of Sebewaing High School. He was united in marriage to Marion J. Fischer on August 27, 1955 in Unionville. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2005 after 49 years of marriage. He was a farmer in the Sebewaing area his entire life. Floyd was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh, a life member of the Sebewaing Sportsmen's Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are one son, Lee Bolzman and his wife, Michelle, of Owendale; two grandchildren, Nicholas Bolzman, of Mt. Pleasant, Chelsea Bolzman, of Owendale; one step-grandson, Steven Niemiec, of Ubly; two brothers, Maurice (Irene) Bolzman, of Sebewaing, Kenneth (Ruth) Bolzman, of Bay City; one sister, Aldine Kopanski, of Little Falls, New York; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Lyn Bolzman in 1989; two brothers, Howard and Vern Bolzman; and three sisters, Edna Wing, Alice Paducky and Helen Mitchell. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. The Rev. Jonathan Meyer will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Kilmanagh, or to the donor's choice.
