Kamrad, Jr., 69, of Gagetown, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006. He was born in Unionville on May 24, 1936, the son of Steve and Margaret (Ramig) Kamrad, Sr. On May 18, 1957, Steve married the former Grace Kanaby in Cass City. Steve was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown, and had been retired from A.C. Spark Plug Division of General Motors. He had been a lifelong farmer and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Caro Lodge No. 1049. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed passing the time working with wood. Surviving along with Grace, his loving wife of 48 years, are his mother, Margaret Kamrad; daughter, Tina (Kirk) Avery, of Baja, California; four sons, Ricky Kamrad, living in Detroit, Tommy (Mary) Kamrad, of Dearborn, Steven (Amy) Kamrad, of Unionville, and Brad Kamrad, of Gagetown; 12 grandchildren; and two sisters, Janice (Dave) Schobert, of Oscoda, and Joann (Ron) Kady, of Gagetown. Preceding Steve in death were his father, Steve, Sr., in 2004; son, Craig, in 1998; and daughter, Margie, in childhood. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, April 3, 2006, at St. Agatha Catholic Church. Fr. Steve Filion officiated. The family has suggested memorials to United Hospice Service. Helen Marguerite Campbell Schultz Helen Marguerite Campbell Schultz, 92, of Colfax Township, passed away Friday morning, April 7, 2006, at Sunny Acres Nursing Center. She was born August 18, 1913 in Chandler Township at the home of her parents, the late Duncan N. and Laura (Stewart) Campbell. Helen graduated from Elkton High School in 1932 as valedictorian of her class. On August 10, 1934, she was united in marriage to Munro S. Schultz in Monroe. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1981 in Clearwater, Florida after 46 years of marriage. In 1935, she graduated from the Kalamazoo State Hospital School of Nursing with a Diploma Degree. Her nursing career started in Detroit as a staff member of East Side General Hospital, then as a private duty nurse in many hospitals and homes from 1935 to 1941. She was employed at Hubbard Hospital, Bad Axe, from 1945 to 1965, first as a staff nurse then for 15 years as the operating room supervisor. In 1965, the Schultz's built Sunny Acres Nursing Center in Colfax Township; the center is now carried on by their daughter, Patricia Patterson, R.N., her husband, Donald, and their son, Michael, who is administrator of the facility. Helen attended the Elkton United Methodist Church, was a life member and past Worthy Matron of the Elkton Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star No. 431. She was also a member of the Happy Holiday China Artists Club in Holiday, Florida, the Caseville Retirement Club and the Tip of the Thumb Dance Club of Bad Axe. She enjoyed her many friends and their happy hours together with cards and dancing. She loved and was proud of all her family members. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Donald) Patterson, of Colfax Township, Kay (James) McCormick, of Clearwater, Florida; two granddaughters, Tammy Elenbaum, of Caseville, Laura McCormick, of Clearwater, Florida; two grandsons, Michael (Gina) Patterson, of Colfax Township, Dr. Robert McCormick, of Harrisonburg, Virginia; seven great-grandsons, Travis, Brandon, and Josh Elenbaum, Ethan Patterson, Drew, Sam and Will McCormick; one great-granddaughter, Nicole Patterson; and one great-great-grandson, Blain Elenbaum. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Don and Neil Campbell; and one sister, Fern English. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2006, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gertrude Anna Sharbowski Gertrude Anna Sharbowski, 92, of Palms, passed away Friday morning, April 7, 2006, at Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Sandusky. Gertrude was born on February 8, 1914 in Parisville, daughter of the late Walter and Lucy (Warchuck) Glaza. She married Edward Sharbowski on September 15, 1941 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2005 after 63 years of marriage. Gertrude was a graduate of a country school. She was an assembly worker at Clements Manufacturing of Deckerville and Minden City for 15 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and visiting with family and friends. Gertrude is survived by one son, Melvin Sharbowski and his wife, Carol, of Palms; one daughter, Marlene Peruski and her late husband, Eugene, of Palms; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Labeski and her husband, Clarence, of Ubly, Christina Bukoski and her husband, Art, of Saginaw; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Glaza, of Melvin, Genevieve Monkvich, of Roseville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Agnes Heleski and her husband, Nick; and six brothers, Bernard, Roman, Cassimer, Stanley, Leo and Adam Glaza. Monday, April 10, 2006 – No obituaries reported Tuesday, April 11, 2006 Roland Case Roland Case, 88, of Middleboro, Massachusetts, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006. He was born September 30, 1917 to the late Galen and Sarah (Swackhammer) Case. He attended Kinde School. In 1938, he entered the Army Air Corps. He served in the African Theater in World War II and in the Korean War. On October 1, 1949, he married Pat Standish in Middleboro, Massachusetts. He was a life member of the Masons and Honor Guard at the VFW. He attended the Methodist Church in Middleboro, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Sally; sons, Lee, Scott, Robert and his wife, Denise; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Ellen (Alan) McDonald, Dorothy Davidson, Jean Vaughan, Carolyn Wooster, Donna Jenkins; brother, Stewart and his wife, Shirley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Case. Carol A. Clark Carol A. Clark, 72, of Bad Axe, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2006, at Huron Medial Center in Bad Axe. She was born on October 23, 1933 in Bay City, daughter of the late Ellis and Nellie (Coppinger) Marks. She married Howard Donald Clark on July 24, 1993 in the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2005. Carol is survived by her two sons, Darin (Jennifer) Billot, of Holland, Francis (Pamela) Billot, of Snover; three daughters, Carol (Ed) Peters, of Bad Axe, Diana (James) Tanton, of Harbor Beach, Frances (James) Russ, of Bellaire; one sister, Elaine DeGrandt, of Bad Axe; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen Shaw Helen "Bunnie" Shaw, 95, of Pigeon, died Monday morning, April 10, 2006, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. She was born December 9, 1910 in Detroit to the late Philip and Emily (Barber) Hutchinson. On April 6, 1929, she was united in marriage to William J. Shaw in Detroit. Bill was originally from the Elkton area, so when he retired in 1966, they returned to Huron County. They lived a short time in Elkton, Caseville, and Bad Axe before settling in Pigeon. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1980 after 51 years of marriage. Bunnie was a past member of the Bay Port Women's Club, enjoyed knitting, playing cards and making handpainted china. Surviving are two children, Bette (Charles) Ulrich, of Bay City, and Bill Shaw Jr., of Pigeon; two grandchildren, Shawna and John; and two great-grandsons, Ian and Alex. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Raymond, Philip, and Edward Hutchinson; and a sister, Emily Eglington. Michael was the owner of Calverley Supply and was a Navy Vietnam Veteran. He was the loving husband of Marlene; dear father of Jason (Rebecca) and Michael (Debbie) Calverley; grandfather of Garrett, Mikayla, and Jacob; brother of Dick, Bob, Mary, and Joanne. Finkel, 98, of Port Hope, passed away Monday evening, April 10, 2006, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe. Born in Petosky on November 13, 1907, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida (Nichol) Hintz. On October 27, 1928, Ella and Walter Finkel were united in marriage in Port Hope. He preceded her in death in 1966. Ella married Alfred Woodke in 1968 and he preceded her in death in 1969. She married Floyd Finkel in 1980 and he preceded Ella in death in 1991. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Hope belonging to the Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary. Ella was a member of the Port Hope Retirees Club and loved to be in her garden and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed making quilt tops and playing bingo. Surviving are her children, Gloria Brown and her husband, Frank, of Bad Axe, Joanne Muter and her husband, Fred, of Port Hope, and Marvin Finkel and his wife, Diane, of Port Hope; daughter-in-law, Sharon Finkel, of Port Hope; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Hintz and his wife, Emily, of Sterling Heights; and several stepchildren and their families. She was born August 23, 1929 at the home of her parents in Sebewaing and lived in Huron County all her life. On July 12, 1952, she was united in marriage to Leonard E. Griggs at the Elkton Methodist Church. After living elsewhere for a while, they settled in Elkton in 1957. Betty was a member of the Community Wesleyan Church and the Tip of the Thumb VFW auxiliary in Pigeon. She loved playing bingo, garage saleing and especially her family. Thursday, April 13, 2006 Dorothy Mae Edds Dorothy Mae Edds, 71, of Port Austin, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Tender Care, Cass City. Dorothy was born July 4, 1934 in Detroit to the late George Chesney and Lottie Flemming. She was united in marriage to Oscar Edds in Detroit. He preceded her in death in June of 2000. Mrs. Edds and her husband lived in Redford for 40 years before moving to Port Austin in 1991. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She is survived by two sons, Gary Edds and his wife, Terry, of Allen, and David Edds and his wife, Linda, of Brownstown; one daughter, Jennifer Krull and her husband, Karl, of Port Austin; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Jessica, Tiffany, Erica, Joshua, Josh, Alexandria, Kassidy, and Kristian; two great-grandchildren; two step- grandchildren, Jim and Dan; and one sister, Ann Provis, of Northville. Mausolf, 83, of Harbor Beach, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2006, in the long term care unit of Harbor Beach Community Hospital. Born near Harbor Beach on July 13, 1922, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Christina (Essenmacher) Mausolf. On September 2, 1944, Earl and Frances LaMielle were united in marriage in Harbor Beach. Earl was a dairy farmer, a former Farm Bureau Agent, and worked for the Michigan Animal Breeders for 31 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, participated in and sponsored a bowling team for many years, was a sharp card player and loved being with his family. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena, the Men's Club, and a 55-year member of the Bad Axe Council 1546 of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Helena Farm Bureau group. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Fran Mausolf, of Harbor Beach; children, Rosalee Clor, of Clinton Township, Joe Mausolf and his wife, June, of Filion, Kathy Tenbusch and her husband, John, of Minden City, Marilyn Klee and her husband, Don, of Bad Axe, Jim Mausolf and his wife, Linda, of Harbor Beach, John Mausolf and his wife, Juli, of Harbor Beach, Margaret Callender and her husband, Tom, of Ruth, and Jerry Mausolf and his wife, Bonnie, of St. Clair Shores; 26 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Friday, April 14, 2006 Maxine Vivian Pflanzer Maxine Vivian Pflanzer, 90, of Chula Vista, California, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006. She was born in Detroit and was a housewife and mother of four. She has been spending her summers at a family farm just outside of Minden City. Survivors include four children, Gary R. Pflanzer and his wife, Margaret, of Imlay City, Dale J. Pflanzer and his wife, Patricia, of Imlay City, Karen I. Jentz and her husband, Earl, of Chula Vista, California, and Chris A. Pflanzer and his wife, Vickie, of La Mirada, California; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Beverlay Libby, Pat Lucas, and Gwen Colbert. Heck, 85, of Elkton, died Thursday morning, April 13, 2006, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. He was born June 29, 1920 in Oliver Township at the home of his parents, the late John and Mabel (David) Heck. On November 7, 1942, he was united in marriage to Eldina J. Anderson in Elkton. Harold was a farmer in Oliver Township all of his life. He raised beef as well as being a crop farmer. For 16 years, he worked at General Cable in Cass City while continuing his farm operation, and retired from General Cable in 1980. He was a member of the SOAR Retirement Group, Cass City, and attended the Owendale Community in Christ Church and Senior Group. Surviving are his wife, Eldina; four children, Donna (Don) Hausbeck, of Reese, Roger (Jan) Heck, of Plano, Texas, Judy (William) Garrick, of Elkton, and Rick (Karen) Heck, of Elkton; seven grandchildren, Jeff Garrick, Christy (Brad) Braden, Brendan Heck, Camden Heck, Miranda (Adam) Benfer, Melissa Heck and Samantha Heck; three great- grandchildren, Sydney, Courtney and Adelyn; two step-grandsons, Bob and Dave Hausbeck; two step-great-grandsons, Adam and Aaron; and many nieces and nephews. Frank Nagy Frank Nagy, 91, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born January 29, 1915 near Fairgrove, son of the late William and Elizabeth (Kemeny) Nagy. He was united in marriage to Jean E. McCloy on July 17, 1937 in Hemlock. She preceded him in death on May 12, 1992 after 54 years of marriage. Frank had been employed for General Motors at the Grey Iron Foundry in Saginaw from 1946 until his retirement in 1975. He lived in Fairgrove until moving to Sebewaing nine years ago. He was a member of the Fairgrove United Methodist Church, had been very active in the Fairgrove Lions Club, was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose in Caro and Florida. He was an avid fisherman and was the Euchre King. Surviving are two daughters and three sons; Marian N. Kundinger, of Sebewaing, Ruth (Frank) Richard, of North Branch, Robert (Lori) Nagy, of Canfield, Ohio, William (Joy) Nagy, of Gladwin, James (Kathy) Nagy, of Fairgrove; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Feagan, of Gladwin; one brother, Paul (Doris) Nagy, of Fairgrove; special friend, Virginia DeWitte, of Fremont; and several nieces and nephews. He was a retired police chief of White Lake Township and retired Detroit police lieutenant. Stanley Joseph Kloc Stanley Joseph Kloc, 86, of Cass City, died after a long illness on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, in his home with his family at his side. He was born September 22, 1932 at home in Novesta Township to Peter and Mary (Mroz) Kloc. Mr. Kloc never married. Eugene graduated from Cass City High School in 1951. During high school he participated in various sports including basketball, baseball and track and was a member of the FFA. He was awarded the Paul Smark Award from Cass City High School in 1951 for his athletic participation. After graduation Eugene served in the US Army. Eugene worked for General Cable as supervisor until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed softball, golf, and playing cards. He also enjoyed feeding animals including birds, cats and deer. Eugene was a University of Michigan sports fan. He was a member of the Cass City/Gagetown Knights of Columbus Council #8892. Eugene is survived by his sisters, Eleonora Kloc, and Frances Kloc, both of Deford, Chesterine (Jerry) Blahut, of Grosse Ile; brothers,Walter Kloc, of Ray, Richard Kloc, of Auburn Hills; two nieces and two nephews; three great nieces and two great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josephine Wolak, and brother, Joseph Kloc. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 17, 2006, in St. Michael Catholic Church, Wilmot, with the Rev. Joseph Schabel and Sr. Riccardina Silvestri officiating. Interment will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery. Military honors will be under the direction of the Cass City VFW Post No. 3644. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at Kranz Funeral Home, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday in the church. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
