Biasell, 90, of Englewood, Florida and Port Austin, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Venice Regional Hospital. He was born October 26, 1915 in Detroit to Paul and Grace (Steeneck) Biasell. Mr. Biasell retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 27 years of service. He was an aeronautical engineer known for airplane design and was a pioneer in the space program. Mr. Biasell was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Port Austin and St. Raphael's Catholic Church of Englewood. Mr. Biasell is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irene Biasell; two sons, Thomas P. (Pamela), of Rochester Hills, and James L. (Patricia), of Clarkston; two daughters, Anne Biasell (Barry) Weldon, of Holland, and Lynn Biasell (Freeborn) Kellogg, of Benton Harbor; one sister, Beverly MacRae, of Tujunga, California; five granddaughters; five grandsons; five step granddaughters; and three step grandsons. A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde is handling the arrangements. Arthur J. Eberlein Arthur J. Eberlein, 88, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at TenderCare of Cass City following a one-month illness. He was born June 6, 1918 in Sebewaing, son of the late Leonard C. and Clara (Rummel) Eberlein. He was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1932 by Rev. L. List. He was a 1936 graduate of Sebewaing High School and in 1940, he graduated from Central Michigan University. Art served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to Dorothy E. Lange on September 20, 1942 in Sebewaing. He was an instrumental music teacher in Clayton and Romulus, and came to the Unionville school system in 1952 and later to the Unionville-Sebewaing area school system before retiring in 1980. He had many music program achievements and always strived for perfection from his students. In 18 of 21 years, his senior bands achieved "1" rating at the state level of competition. At the USA High School, he was the first recipient of the Hall of Fame Award. He was the director of the Unionville- Sebewaing Area Music Alumnus and was invited to conduct the University Band at CMU homecoming festivities. Mr. Eberlein was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, serving as organist, elder and secretary of the congregation. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, one son and two daughters and their spouses, Michael (Judy Eberlein) Haslett; Gretchen (Robert) Becker, Unionville, Kathryn (Robert) Pilarski, Bay City; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; four step- grandchildren; also one sister, Flora Golomb, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Wilson. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. Daniel Hahn will officiate with burial in Northlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Casimer Ginther Casimer Ginther, 84, of Harbor Beach, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2006, at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. Born in Sigel Township on November 25, 1921, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Jock) Ginther. On June 20, 1942, Cass and Margaret Putzig were united in marriage in Parisville. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Cass was a life-long farmer, a former employee of Consumers Energy, and an employee of Detroit Edison Company in Harbor Beach, retiring in 1983 after 16 years of service. Cass served as Sigel Township Treasurer for 29 years. Cass was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years and a member of the Men's Club. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 197 of Harbor Beach and the Parisville VFW post in Ruth for more than 60 years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Lake Huron Council 11432 of Harbor Beach. Cass loved his family, a good joke, baseball (especially the Detroit Tigers), deer hunting and polka music. Surviving are his wife, Margaret, of Harbor Beach, his children, Marjorie Essenmacher and her husband, Daniel, of Harbor Beach, Paul Ginther and his wife, Jeanette, of Harbor Beach, Jean Tatrow and her husband, Tom, of Stephenson, Gary Ginther and his wife, Terri, of Birch Run, Glenn Ginther and his wife, Susan, of Davison, Susan O'Neil and her husband, Patrick, of Harbor Beach, Carolyn Kramer and her husband, Roger, of Harbor Beach, Steven Ginther and his wife, Jenny, of Marysville, Gayle Volmering and her husband, Bill, of Harbor Beach, John Ginther and his wife, Bev, of Harbor Beach; 32 grandchildren and 26 great- grandchildren; also surviving are a sister-in-law, Dorothy Anderson, and her husband, Herbert Jr., two brothers-in-law, Donald Putzig and his wife, Iris, and Harold Putzig and his wife, Brenda. Mary A. Ulfig Mary A. Ulfig, 81, of Sigel Township near Harbor Beach, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2006, in the long-term care unit of Harbor Beach Community Hospital. Born in Mount Clemens on December 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Eggloff) Vandeputte. On January 9, 1945, Mary and Julius Ulfig were united in marriage in Detroit. Julius preceded her in death on February 14, 1977. Mary was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. She enjoyed sewing, craft making, stamping and gardening. Surviving are her children, Evelyn Girardot, of Armada, Jeanette Pisha, of Macomb, and Mark Ulfig, of Harbor Beach; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Vandeputte, of Florida, and Oscar Vandeputte, of Detroit; sisters, Alice Peterson, of Georgia, and Doris Kaclick, of Chesterfield. She was preceded in death by sons, Bernard and Julius Jr., daughter, Phyllis Kramer; and a grandson, Brent Kramer. Monday, June 12, 2006 Margaret Geiger Maurer Margaret Geiger Maurer, 89, of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2006, at Harbor Beach Community Hospital. Born December 2, 1916 in Harbor Beach, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Bischer) Booms. Margaret and Norman Geiger were united in marriage on December 29, 1937 in Helena. Norman preceded her in death on December 8, 1976. She married Edward Maurer on October 18, 1980 in Harbor Beach. Ed preceded her in death on September 24, 2003. Margaret was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society, the Legion of Mary and the Daughters of Isabella. She was a former member of the Port Hope Retirees Club and bowling league, the Harbor Beach Senior Citizens, and the Farm Bureau. Margaret enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidering, drawing and artwork, and working with her flowers and gardening. She loved her grandchildren (especially the babies) and playing cards. "Peggy" Drewes, 78, of Pigeon and formerly of Rochester Hills, died Sunday, June 11, 2006. She was born December 7, 1927 in Rochester to the late Charles and Mary Coons. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1945. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending summers on the beach in Caseville with her family. She was the wife of Tom Drewes, her husband for 54 years who preceded her in death on March 5, 2004; mother of Thomas (Susan) Drewes, of Rochester Hills, Joanne Karafa, of Caseville, and William (Sharon) Drewes, of Rochester Hills; beloved grandmother of Lindsay and Marcy Drewes, Jolene and Charles Karafa, and Dayna and Kayla Drewes; sister of the late Charles "Jim" Coons; sister-in-law of Rika Goodison, of Rochester Hills, and Joy Coons, of Dryden. Thresa Mary Geboski Thresa Mary Geboski, 97, of Ubly, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2006, at the home of her son, John, in Ubly following a short illness. Thresa was born December 8, 1908 in Tyre (Austin), daughter of the late John and Johanna (Glaza) Peplinski. Thresa and John Geboski Sr. were married August 1, 1927 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ubly. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1969. She was a lifelong member of St. John Church in Ubly. She was a graduate of the Austin (Hogsback) School. She was employed for many years at the Huron Inn in Ubly. Thresa enjoyed being with her family, traveling, playing bingo and taking care of her plants and garden. Thresa is survived by a loving family, her son, John Geboski Jr., of Ubly; three grandsons, Ron Geboski, of Kalamazoo, Michael (Laura) Geboski, of Royal Oak, Wayne (Diane) St. Onge, of Hartville, Missouri; three granddaughters, Nancy Geboski, of Seattle, Washington, Karen (David) Mineau, of Marysville, Cheryl Geboski, of Port Hope, six great-grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob Mineau, Alyson and Jacob Geboski, Heather and Jason St. Onge; three great-great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kelci Ward, Jordan St. Onge; one brother, Frank (Lillian) Peplinski, of Ubly; many nieces and nephews. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Phyllis M. Pacholka Phyllis M. Pacholka, 75, of Bay City, died unexpectedly Monday, June 12, 2006, at her home. She was born October 19, 1930 in Bay City, daughter of the late William J. and Florence E. (Merkle) Pacholka. She was a graduate of Bay City Central High School and later attended Delta College. She had been employed at Dow Chemical Company in Midland for 18½ years and then Bay City PowerTrain for nine years. She transferred to A.C. Rochester East in Flint for nine years before retiring in 1993. She is a retiree from U.A.W. No. 362. Pat was a lifelong member of Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church in Bay City until it closed and she then became a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was a member of Stamnitz/Lindeman American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 293 of Sebewaing. Surviving are three nephews, Warren C. (Sandra) Juengel, of Sebewaing, William T. (Janet) Juengel, of Luther, James Maxson, of Midland; one niece, Elizabeth (William) Bills, of Bay City; one brother-in-law, Richard C. Juengel, of Sebewaing; four great-nieces, one great-nephew, six great-great nieces and two great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Harriet E. Juengel and June F. Maxson. He was born April 9, 1935 in Sigel Township, son of the late Joseph and Edna Peyerk. He was united in marriage to Vivian Pawlowski, on October 12, 1957 at St. Joseph's Church in Rapson. Mr. Peyerk was owner of Peyerk Tile and also farmed. He was a parishioner of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin. Rook, 78, of Plainwell and formerly of Ubly, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the Life Care Center of Plainwell. She was born April 18, 1928 in Bad Axe to Jake and Anna (Leppek) Osentoski. On February 14, 1948 she married Marvin Rook. He preceded her in death. Her family includes her children, Linda Webb, of Bad Axe, Ron (Kathy) Rook, of Metamora, and Mark (Sandy) Rook, of Plainwell; her sister, Eileen Maikrzek, of Ubly; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, David. Following Maxine's wishes, she has been cremated and will be buried with her husband in Ubly following a private service. She was born February 3, 1924 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Fred and Stella (Krauss) Arold. She was united in marriage to Harold H. Stock on November 29, 1947 in Sebewaing. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1998. Evelyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing and especially playing cards with family and friends. Surviving are two sons, Brian Stock and Keith Stock, both of Sebewaing; two grandsons, Troy Stock and Blaine (Danyiel) Stock, all of Portage; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Toby; one sister, Margaret Gettel, of Caro; and several nieces and nephews.
