Sunday, October 22, 2006 Debra Dorr Debra Dorr, 56, of Simpsonville, Kentucky, died Thursday, October 19, 2006, at the Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville, Kentucky. She was born in Bad Axe and grew up in Parisville, daughter of Rita P. Oberski and the late Bernard Oberski. She was a 1968 graduate of Ss. Peter and Paul High School in Ruth. She graduated in 1972 from Central Michigan University. She was a homemaker and teacher, having taught law, government and driver's education at Hemlock High School in Hemlock. Dorr also served as a substitute teacher in Toledo, Ohio and Greenville, Michigan. Dorr was a member of the Church of the Annunciation where she also was an Altar Society member. She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Dorr, of Simpsonville, Kentucky; son, Paul M. Dorr, DVM, of Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; daughters, Leah Marie Dorr and Dana Ann Dorr, both of Louisville, Kentucky; mother, Rita Oberski, of Ubly; brothers, Mark Oberski, of Parisville, and Daniel and Dale Oberski, both of Detroit; sister, Mary Lynn Bahar, of Boston. The Rev. William M. Bowling officiated a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at the Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the James Graham Brown Cancer Foundation. Arrangements are being handled by Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Monday, October 23, 2006 Adelaide Markle Adelaide Markle, 83, died on Sunday, October 22, 2006. She was born September 21, 1924 in Kinde to William and Florence Everingham. Ad lived most of her life in Kinde where she started her banking career with Hubbard State Bank and continued in banking for 30 plus years. She recently relocated to Lansing so her family could help with her care. Ad will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving and dedicated wife of 28 years to Earl Markle; a fiercely proud mother of her four sons, Jeffrey, Steven, Joel and William; and a gentle and loving grandmother to all six grandchildren, Erin, Casey, Amanda, Andrew, Rebecca and Cassandra, of whom she adored every finger and toe. She was friend and sister to Elizabeth Wahl, Lois Everingham, Cherry Nickle and Kit Tamblyn; and brother, Raymond Everingham. She counted her nieces and nephews as an extension of her own children and loved them as such. Ad's entire family will miss her wonderful memories and stories! There was nary a moment in her life she didn't recall with clarity. She delighted in sharing stories of her youth, her boys' childhood adventures, and she provided clear details of her grandchildren's most endearing moments. Her most recent joys were the addition of her youngest grandchild, Cassandra Markle, and the birth of her first great-grandchild, Sierra Palmer. Deanna June Miller Deanna June Miller, 63, of Caseville, died Saturday, October 21, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw after a brief battle with cancer. Deanna was born August 23, 1943 in Sanilac County to the late Glenn and Mildred (Morrish) Darr. She grew up in Livonia and then moved to Cass City after she finished school. She married Lee Miller, of Caseville, in 1996 and then moved to Caseville. She worked at Lyntex in Ubly for 22 years. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and going to garage sales. She loved her country and frequently showed it by wearing patriotic clothing or accessories. Deanna is survived by her husband, Lee; son, Greg Darr and his wife, Emily, of Cass City; grandchildren, Justin, Erica and Aaron; and her brother, Chuck Darr, of Saginaw. Deanna was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Jack Darr; and her sister, Joyce Darr. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. Mausolf Mr. James "Louie" A. Mausolf, 56, of Henderson, Nevada and formerly of Minden City, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2006, at his residence in Henderson. James was born on July 28, 1950 in Harbor Beach to Florence (Nowicki) Mausolf and the late Edward M. Mausolf. James was a graduate of St. Mary Elementary School and he attended Ubly High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. James was a union pipe layer for over 20 years. He worked for some construction companies in the Detroit Area, including Carlo Construction. He lived in Henderson, Nevada for the last 10 years. James is survived by one son, Jason Mausolf, of Plymouth; his mother, Florence Mausolf, of Parisville; his six siblings, Steven Mausolf and his wife, Karen, of New Hudson, Nancy Peruski and her husband, Thomas, of Minden City, Connie Williams and her husband, Herbert, of Bad Axe, Tim Mausolf and his wife, Judy, of Minden City, Dennis Mausolf and his wife, Darcy, of Ubly, Duane Mausolf and his wife, Carrie, of Minden City; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Mausolf; two brothers, Kevin and Mark Mausolf; former wife, Diana Kowalski. A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. The Rev. Jerzy Dobosz, pastor, will officiate. Emil Wasik Emil Wasik, 72, of Bad Axe, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper Hospital in Saginaw. He was born March 20, 1934 in Sebewaing, son of the late Stanley and Anna (Plonka) Wasik. He worked at Thumb Industries in Bad Axe. He was survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Alexander, Bernard, Edward, Stanley and Theodore Wasik; and three sisters, Ann Koslow, Katherine Lamont and Julie Stahl. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2006, at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Officiating will be Fr. James Carlson, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Wilma Lucille McLellan Wilma Lucille McLellan, 81, of Cass City, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006, in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro. She was born September 4, 1925 in Cass City to James and Eva (Deneen) Mallory. She married James Henry McLellan on December 17, 1951 in Auburn. He died May 24, 1992. Wilma attended school in Cass City. She worked at Walbro Engine Manufacturing. She also worked at the Fort Store in town. Wilma enjoyed working outdoors in her flower garden and mowing her lawn. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Mallory (James Smith) McFarland, of Caro; grandchildren, Tina (Peter) Mulrath, of Cass City, William (Anne) McFarland, of Kinde, Brenda (Michael Livingston) McFarland, of Mayville, Tim (Melissa) McFarland, of Nebraska, Dorothy McFarland, of Detroit; great grandchildren, Ashley Mulrath, Jessica Mulrath, James McFarland, Carlie McFarland; brothers, Orville (Joann) Mallory, of Cass City, James (Beverly) Mallory, of Kingston. Albrecht Betty Ann Albrecht, 80, of Pigeon, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon after a brief illness. She was born in Marion, Ohio on April 19, 1926, daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Augsburger) King. On July 15, 1948, she was united in marriage to John Edwin Albrecht in Elida, Ohio. Mrs. Albrecht was a homemaker throughout her lifetime, enjoying crocheting, puzzles, cooking, flower and vegetable gardening. She was an avid quilter, making a quilt for each of her grandchildren. In her later years, she enjoyed surfing the Internet and keeping in touch with friends and family by e-mail. Mrs. Albrecht worked as a bookkeeper prior to her marriage. She worked part-time for USA Schools as a cook and part-time as a cashier at the Rummel Grocery Store in Sebewaing. She was a member of the Pigeon River Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the sewing circle, and taught Bible School and Sunday School. She was also a sponsor/advisor of church youth camping trips. In addition to her husband of 58 years, John, she is survived by four children and their spouses, Linda and Joe Christophel, of Goshen, Indiana, Suzanne and Eugene Gascho, of Pigeon, John M. and Dottie Albrecht, of Mantua, Ohio, and Kevin and Jan Albrecht, of Duncombe, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer (Nathan), Jonathan, Susan, Jeremy, Kyle, Jalissa, Kayleen, Gabrielle, Elizabeth, Rachel, Jay, and Kelsey; two great- grandchildren, Jalen and Sofia; a sister, Freda Milne, of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, Paul (Lois) King and Robert (Jill) King, both of Sarasota, Florida; in-laws, Clark Breneman, of Ada, Ohio, and Lala King, of Sarasota, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Breneman; a brother, John King; and a brother-in-law, Robert Milne. Anderson Herbert J. Anderson, 78, of Bad Axe, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2006, at the home of his daughter, Dawn Anderson. He was born January 29, 1928 to the late Herbert and Ada (Rader) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Putzig on September 4, 1954 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe. Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Bad Axe High School, class of 1948. He was a lifelong resident of Bad Axe and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Detroit Edison until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Bad Axe Lions Club for many years and a member of the American Legion Post No. 499 in Port Austin. In the good ol' days, he played the bugle in the Sherwin-Elvin Drum and Bugle Corps in Bad Axe. As a member of Verona Hills Golf Club, he enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He also loved playing euchre, pheasant hunting, visiting with friends at the coffee shop at McDonald's Food and Family Center, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Bad Axe; one son, Michael (Stephanie) Anderson, of Bad Axe; three daughters, Jane Anderson, of Bay City, Debra Anderson, of Port Austin and Dawn Anderson, of Bad Axe; one granddaughter, Erin McCallum; three sisters-in-law, Carol Anderson, of Caseville, Margaret Ginther, of Harbor Beach and Jan (Jack) Peterman, of Kalamazoo; two brothers-in-law, Donald (Iris) Putzig, of Orange, California, and Harold (Brenda) Putzig, of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; and two special friends, Dorothea Vacchiano and Randy Rundquist. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Anderson; and one sister, Shirley Doerr. Herford, 87, of Elkton, died Thursday evening, October 26, 2006,. at Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon. He was born September 29, 1919 at the home of his parents, the late Daniel and Clara (Gallman) Herford, in Chandler Township. On June 6, 1942, he was united in marriage to Annabelle Schweitzer at her parent's home in Sebewaing. Armond farmed all his life, first with his father, then taking over the family farm in Chandler Township, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Elkton United Methodist Church, Shady Lane Farm Bureau, Elkton Historical Society and the Pigeon Men's Community Chorus. He loved to travel and was proud of the fact he visited almost every state in the country plus many countries abroad. He wintered for many years in the mid-Florida area. Armond loved to visit with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting both deer and pheasant and listening to gospel music. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Isabelle; five children, Noreen Bennett, of Sand Point, Nola (Cal) Kauffman, of Elkton, Neil (Connie) Herford, of Elkton, Arlin (Sue) Herford, of Elkton, and Nan (Keith) Stalter, of Bay Port; a special nephew, Richard (Mary) Schweitzer, of Baltimore, Massachusetts; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a daughter, Nancy Lou; grandson, Chad; and his sister, Beulah Motz Schlabach. Longuski Mr. Eugene "Gene" E. Longuski, 50, of Bad Axe, died suddenly Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at Huron Medical Center after suffering an apparent heart attack. Gene was born September 9, 1956 in Bad Axe, son of Mary Jane (Wrubel) Longuski and the late Earl T. Longuski. Gene was a 1974 graduate of Ubly High School. He was a member of the Ubly Fox Hunters' Club. He worked with his father and uncle in the family business, Longuski Silo Company, from 1971-1990. Gene was employed for nine years at Tower Automotive as an inspector and was a member of the union. He worked for Masco Tec in Detroit for eight years. Gene was the groundskeeper for Gemini, Valley, and Regency Plastics in Ubly. He was manager of the Sharon Apartments in Bad Axe for a few years. Gene was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, Red Wings hockey, and visiting the casinos. His nieces and nephews were his pride and joy. Gene will be sadly missed by many friends and neighbors, especially the Connie McCoy family and Donna Keehn. Gene is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Longuski, of Ubly; one brother, Earl J. Longuski and his wife, April, of Shepherd; three sisters, Karen Maurer and her husband, David, of Harbor Beach, Kathy Kirsch and her husband, Michael, of Harbor Beach, Shelly Messing and her husband, Gregory, of Bad Axe; a foster sister, Barbara Nugent and her husband, David, of Grass Lake; his nieces and nephews, Kylee and Kerri Dhyse, Brittney and Crysta Maurer, Andrew, Jolene, Jacqueline and Janelle Kirsch, Ashley, Kevin and Lauren Messing and Daniel Nugent; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl T. Longuski, and one brother-in-law, Arvid Dhyse. A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly.
