Sunday, November 26, 2006 Bernadette Camarata Bernadette Clare Camarata, 94, of Caseville, died Friday, November 24, 2006, at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe after a lengthy illness. Bernadette was born August 22, 1912 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Alice (Carbeaneau) Krause. She married John Camarata on October 2, 1936 in Ferndale. She moved to Caseville permanently in 1972. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church. She loved music and especially playing piano. She is survived by her children, James (Maryann), of Sterling Heights, Richard (Gladys), of St. Clair Shores, and Barbara (Rosaire) LaPorte, of Standish; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2001. A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the funeral home. Dillon Mrs. Audrey M. Dillon, 75, of Ubly, died Saturday, November 25, 2006. She was born December 21, 1930 in Detroit, daughter of the late Martin and Clara (Vahovick) Rutkowski. She married Richard Dillon on June 30, 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2001. She was a graduate of Proctor Country School and worked at Square D. Company in Detroit for a few years. Mrs. Dillon farmed with her family and helped to raise her siblings. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, crossword (word search), bingo, visiting with friends and family. She is survived by one daughter, Denise Gornowicz and her husband, Larry, of Ubly; one son, Brian Dillon and his wife, Debbie, of Ubly; two granddaughters, Bethany Gornowicz and Olivia Dillon; two sisters, Delphine Dombrowski and her husband, Edward, of Cass City; Bernice Grifka and her husband, Joseph, of New Baltimore; one brother, Bazyle Rutkowski and his wife, Dorothy, of Warren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Lynne Marie, and a brother, Jerome "Jim" Rutkowski. A Funeral Mass for Audrey Dillon will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2006, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Frieburg. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Friends may call at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly from 1:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund. Leonard Goretski Leonard R. Goretski, 61, of Scottsdale, Arizona and formerly of Bad Axe, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006, in Arizona following a heart attack. He was born on February 5, 1945 in Bad Axe, son of Robert F. Goretski and Dorothy L. (Goretski) Clancey. He graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1963 and then served in the U.S. Army. In 1969, he joined the Michigan State Police where he worked for the next 30 years. He became a detective who worked on many high profile cases. After retiring in 1999, and a brief stint as a private investigator, he moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to enjoy the retirement lifestyle which for Leonard featured golf, a game he loved, and a dream home in McDowell Mountain Ranch. His retirement did not last long. In 2003, he became a partner in the ShipRite Business located on Market Street in DC Ranch. He loved the work and particularly enjoyed the many customers he met and the relationships he developed. He would always go out of his way to be helpful and brought a smile to work each day. Surviving are one son, Leonard Goretski, of Scottsdale, Arizona; one daughter, Wendy Goretski and her husband, Steve Biellak, of Sunnyvale, California; two grandchildren, Cassidy and Grant Biellak, of Sunnyvale, California; father, Robert Goretski and his wife, Pauline, of Bad Axe; two brothers, Michael Goretski and his wife, Bonnie, of Bad Axe, and Ron Goretski and his wife, Kimberly Chaisson, of Elk Rapids; his extended family, Debbie Kerr-Minor and her husband, Richard Minor, of Scottsdale, Arizona; and his business partner, Tom Rooney and his wife, Gilda, of Scottsdale, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Goretski) Clancey. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Officiating will be Fr. James Carlson, pastor. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military and Michigan State Police rituals. Warmbier Evelyn Elizabeth Warmbier, 96, of Cass City, died Thursday, November 23, 2006, in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City, following a long illness. She was born January 5, 1910 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to George L. and Elizabeth M. (Clifton) Duncan. She married Alfred R. Warmbier on September 7, 1932 in Flint. He died November 13, 1960. Evelyn worked at the Water Department for the City of River Rouge. She and her husband owned and operated Juniata General Store for ten years. Evelyn worked at Cardinal's Dress Shop in Detroit for over twelve years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and making quilts. Evelyn is survived by her sons, Richard C. (Patricia) Warmbier, of Richmond, Virginia, Gerald F. (Margie) Warmbier, of Cass City, William J. (Linda) Warmbier, of Caro; grandchildren, Carmen (Randy) Damm, Bill (Lori) Warmbier, Lori (Bill) Wright, CJ Warmbier, Scott (Miranda) Warmbier, Kelly Keinath, Elizabeth Anne (Scott) Delaney, Ken (Sarah) Warmbier, Alfred Warmbier; 16 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. (Ludwig) Adams, 74, of Bay City, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ruth was born in Bay City on July 3, 1932 to the late Louis and Anna (Graber) Ludwig. She married James W. Adams. He preceded her in death in 1996. Ruth worked for the city of Bay City as a crossing guard, retiring after 20 years of service. Ruth enjoyed watching the boats by the river, playing cards with her family, watching wrestling and football. She will be missed dearly by her whole family and friends. Mrs. Adams is survived by her three children, Michael and Alice Adams, of Smithville, Texas, Patrick and Edna Adams, of Kinde, Debra and Jerry Ponton, of Bay City; six grandchildren, Kimberly (Eddie) Fluker, of Spicewood, Texas, April (Enrique) Robledo, of Cedar Creek, Texas, Michelle (Mary) Lucio, of Austin, Texas, Paul P. (Kelly) Adams, of Bad Axe, David Adams, of Kinde, and Matthew Ponton, U.S. Marines, California; eight great grandchildren, Kristie Fluker, Nickolas Robledo, Armando Robledo, Nathan Robledo, Anthony Robledo, Brandon Lucio, Matthew Lucio and Eligh Ponton; a sister, Mary (William) Sabish, of Saginaw; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Thomas, and Bruce Ludwig. Margaret L. Schneider Margaret L. Schneider, 89, of Madison Heights and formerly of Port Hope, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2006, at Beaumont Hospital, Troy. Born in Port Hope on December 19, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Louise (Krueger) Lawitzke. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warren. Surviving are three sons, Melvin Schneider and his wife, Margie, of Sharon, Tennessee, James Schneider and his wife, Arletta, of Warren, and Dennis Schneider and his wife, Charlotte, of Commerce Township; nine grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Schneider; a brother, Carl Lawitzke; and sisters, Irene Habs and Irma Richardson. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 Paul D. Harp Paul D. Harp, 44, of Saginaw and formerly of Port Hope, passed away Monday, November 27, 2006, at Healthsource in Saginaw under Hospice Care. Paul was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Hope. He was a registered nurse by profession and supported Toys for Tots wholeheartedly. He enjoyed helping others, traveling, collecting DVDs and antiques and he was an avid Barbara Streisand fan. He is survived by his dad, Tom Perdue, of Minden City; siblings, Richard Harp, David (Tamera) Harp and Mary Harp, all of Harbor Beach, Deb (Mel) Barc, of Highland, Daniel (Karen) Harp, of West Bloomfield, and Kathleen Perdue and her special friend, Richard Kain, of Minden City; nieces, Sarah (David) Jordan, Rebecca Harp, Emily Harp, Lindy Harp, Victoria Harp, and Elizabeth Harp; nephews, Timothy Harp, Jason Barc and Daniel Harp; great niece, Savanah Jordan; and great nephews, Vincent Wolschlegar and Cal Jordan; aunts, Margaret (John) York, Delores Wancha and Leona Muter; and many cousins. Memorials may be offered to Toys for Tots. Louise Ann Zdrojewski Louise Ann Zdrojewski, 83, of Palms, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2006, at her residence. Louise was born February 28, 1923 in Helena to the late Henry and Mary (Weber) Essenmacher. She grew up in Bad Axe and attended school at Sacred Heart Elementary School. She met Daniel Zdrojewski at the Parisville Arcadia Ballroom and they married May 13, 1942 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. They made their home in Palms where they raised four sons. She was a parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms for 64 years. She loved nothing more than visits and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to work outside. The joint burial for Daniel and Louise will be in the St. Patrick Church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church only. Thursday, November 30, 2006 Deborah Lee Guza Deborah "Delf" Lee Guza, 57, of Caseville, died Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at her home under the loving care of her family, friends and Heartland Hospice following a long illness. She was born June 16, 1949 in Detroit, daughter of the late Orval and Dorothy (Talaska) Ferguson. She married Thomas Guza on February 12, 2000 at St. Roch's Catholic Church in Caseville. Deb is survived by her husband, Tom; a daughter, Holly Nusz and her fiancé, Jason Lynk, of Caro; two sons, Donald Gerds Jr. and Christopher Gerds and his fiancée, Angie Adams, all of Caro; and four grandchildren, Tia and Zachary Nusz, of Caro, Alyssa Marie Gerds, of Caro, and Lars Stinson, of Oxford. Deb was a loving wife, mother, and friend to everyone. She was kindhearted, generous, and an inspiration to those around her. She loved life, flowers, long walks on the beach, and her dog, Angel, as well as numerous pets through the years. She was a supporter of Relay for Life and an advocate for cancer patients. Deb studied art at the Cranbrook Institute and became a talented artist, known as "Delf," with a special interest in painting lighthouses. She was a member of St. Roch's Catholic Church in Caseville and a former manager of Kmart. A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at St. Roch's Catholic Church in Caseville. Officiating will be the Rev. Kenneth Yaroch, pastor. Cremation is taking place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. Burial of her cremains will follow in the church cemetery. Friday, December 1, 2006 Neil MacDonald Neil R. MacDonald, 81, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2006, in Carson City, Nevada, where he has resided for 22 years. He was born October 1, 1925 in Bad Axe to John and Mary Ellen MacDonald. In 1987, Neil married Doris MacDonald in Alpine County, California. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He graduated from the Clayton School of Natural Healing where he received his doctorate of naturopathy. As the owner of Lifestream Natural Health Food Store in Carson City and with his bi- monthly newsletter, Neil was dedicated to helping people achieve good health. He loved to travel and enjoyed swimming, playing golf and tennis. Neil is survived by his wife, Doris MacDonald, of Carson City, Nevada; son, Dr. Steven MacDonald, of Pacific Grove, California; daughters, Catherine MacDonald, of Spokane, Washington, Patricia Hart, of Otis Orchards, Washington, and Jody J. Johnson, of Reno. Nevada; sister, Helen Simmons, of Cheboygan; five grandchildren, Emily MacDonald, Melissa Noah, Elizabeth Longtain, Alan Longtain, and Nicholas Herrera; four great grandchildren, Peyton, Reilly, Ashley and Conner Noah; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins in Michigan.
