Kuisel, 91, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2006. Mr. Kuisel was born in Sebewaing in 1915. He was a resident of Plymouth since 1939 and previously of Lansing and Sebewaing. He retired in 1980 from Michigan Bell Telephone after 43 years of service. He was an inspector, working out of the Lilly Road Garage in Plymouth. Mr. Kuisel was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plymouth, Michigan, Bell Pioneers Club, and the Michigan Conservation Club. He loved gardening, stamp collecting, bowling and traveling with his wife. He especially loved woodworking and working with his hands. He was married for 48 years to the late Effie Louise. He was the beloved father of Mary F. (Tommy) Ward, Jeanne E. Kuisel, Harold W. "Buck" Jr. (Ruth "Toot") Kuisel and Marvin G. Kuisel; dear grandfather of Harold W. III (Noum- Teni) Kuisel, Kevin Scott Kuisel, Jon Russell Kuisel, Dana Darlene (Dean) Sitar, and Dwayne Drew Ward; great grandfather of Holly Nichole Ward, Alexander Michael, Steven Scott, and Grace Taylor Kuisel; brother of the late Melvin Kuisel and the late Aldine Gaeth; brother-in-law of Dorothy Kuisel and the late Arnold Gaeth; son of the late Henry and Katherine (Jacobi) Kuisel; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday. Diem, 72, resident of Lake Township near Oak Beach, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006, at his home. Mr. Diem was born October 27, 1934 in Carsonville, son of Sarah Rogers Diem and the late Ernest Diem. He and Miss. Margaret Jean Wallace were united in marriage on June 25, 1955 in Carsonville. Mr. Diem was a member of Bay Port Community of Christ. He was employed at IBEW Local No. 58 as an electrician. He retired in 1996. Floyd attended Butler Rural Country School and was a graduate of Carsonville class of 1953. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Diem was a life member of Ortonville Masonic Lodge No. 339 F&AM and Verona-Huron Masonic Lodge No. 365 F&AM; member of Lebanon Chapter RAM No. 125 Bad Axe, Cass City Council No. 90 R&SM and Order of Eastern Star No. 286 Ortonville. He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, tending to his vegetable and flower garden and visiting with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Margaret; three sons, Kevin and his wife, Nita, and Alan, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Bryan and his wife, Michelle, of Columbiaville; mother, Sarah Diem, of Independance, Missouri.; seven grandchildren, Rhianna, Alison, Sarah, Kate, Amanda, Devin, and Craig; three brothers, Kenneth Diem and his wife, Shirley, and Robert Diem and his wife, Ann, both of Carsonville, and Howard Diem and his wife, Sandra, of Greenville; one sister, Lenoir Howard and her husband, Russel, of Independence, Missouri.; one sister-in-law, Karen Diem, of Carsonville. Mr. Diem was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Diem. Kowalke II Gorden R. Kowalke II, 73, of St. Clair Shores, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006, in St. Johns Macomb Hospital in Warren. Born in Detroit on May 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Gorden R. and Marcella E. (Pelath) Kowalke. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Gorden was a retired employee of the Conrail Railroad and its predecessor, New York Central Railroad. He retired in 1985 after working for 33 years. He enjoyed being near the lake and pier and was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his children, Gorden Kowalke III and his wife, Judi, of Yale, Denise Drobek and her husband, Tom, of Washington Township.; five grandchildren, Carlie and Lauren Kowalke, and Jessika, Joey and Jadyn Drobek; and sister, Leona Ruth Wheller, of Warren. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2006, in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach, with Fr. T.J. Fleming, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW and American Legion of Harbor Beach. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service today in the church. Langley Kari Lu Langley, 53, of Midland and formerly of Pigeon, passed away Friday, October 27, 2006, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center, Midland. She was born in Pigeon on August 4, 1953, the daughter of Orville and Caralea (Deering) Reed. She graduated in 1971 from Laker High School. She married Roy Langley of Bay Port. Kari worked as activities director at Huron Medical Care Facility for many years until 2004. She then worked in Bay City for Heartland Home Hospice for one year prior to her illness. She was an artisan and handcrafted beautiful jewelry. She also enjoyed reading and was an excellent public speaker. Kari loved her family dearly. She was a member of the Community of Christ in Bay Port. Her survivors include a daughter, Kara Langley and her fianceé, Chris Arrington, of Midland; her father, Orville "Peanut" Reed, of Kissimmee, Florida; her brother, Ted Reed, of Kissimmee, Florida; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; her faithful friend and companion, a Bichon-Maltese dog, Sofia; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Caralea; and her grandparents. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at the Meyersieck- Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Elder Terry Brown of the Community of Christ, Bay Port, officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Community of Christ, Bay Port. Irene F. Smith Irene F. Smith, 99, of Caseville, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. Irene was born September 24, 1907 in Detroit to the late Valentine and Rose Andrzejak. She married Carl Smith on June 26, 1926 in Detroit. Carl preceded her in death on January 18, 1960. Irene bought and began spending time at her cottage in Caseville in the early 1960s. She retired permanently to Caseville in 1990. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and housekeeping. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Nicholl; grandson, Joseph Nicholl and his wife, Meg; great-grandson, Joseph Nicholl II and great granddaughter, Dani Nicholl, all of Caseville; and her brother, Ernest Andrejak and his wife, Bernice, of Armada. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; brother, Conrad Andrzejak; and sister, Dorothy Paul. Tuesday, October 31, 2006 Michael Hunter Michael Hunter, 61, of Montgomery, died Friday, October 27, 2006, at Country Meadows Adult Foster Care, Montgomery. He was born June 5, 1945 in Lansing to Don L. and Argene (Green) Hunter. Mike was a member of United AutoWorkers. He is survived by his mother, Argene Hunter, of Arcadia, Florida; sons, Sean M. Hunter and Jason D. Hunter, both of Bristol, Maine; brother, Patrick (Lana) Hunter, of Coldwater; sister, Mary (Leonard) Miller, of Hickory, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Christopher (Connie) Piascik, of Holly; and several nieces and nephews. Wilcox, 81, of Deford, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006, in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro, after a long illness. She was born October 19, 1925 in Silverwood to George and Florence (Berry) Shaver. She married Etsel Daniel Wilcox and together they resided in the Kingston and Deford area for 55 years. He died October 19, 2001. Margaret retired from Cass City Schools where she had worked as the cafeteria manager and cook in the Campbell Elementary School for many years. Margaret was a very active member of the Deford Community Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and cooking, and especially trying out new recipes on her family. Margaret and Etsel enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and motorcycle riding with their families while they were able. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Etselene (Jim) Dorland, of Deford; granddaughter, Shelly (Bill) Chambers, of Deford; great-grandchildren, Shane Bloomfield and Shania Chambers; stepgrandchildren, Ryan Dorland and Kyle Dorland; stepgreat grandchildren, Nick (Marcy) Chambers, Heather Chambers, Tammy (Rudy) Schlatter; stepgreat great granddaughter, Samantha Schlatter. Mary Isabelle Rabideau Mary Isabelle (Walmsley) Rabideau, 78, of Cass City, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006, in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center, Marlette. She was born September 13, 1928 in Cass City to John and Eliza (DeLong) Walmsley. She married Wayne George Rabideau on June 23, 1947 in Caro. Mary graduated from Cass City Schools. She worked at the Cass City Ben Franklin Store and later managed the Caro Ben Franklin Store. She also worked at the election polls in town. Mary enjoyed sewing and crafts and was the friendly face so many saw when they bought fabric at the Ben Franklin Store. She loved animals and was the safe haven for Rusty, Duke, George, Blacky and many more.
