Braun, 84, of Harbor Beach, passed away Friday, January 12, 2007, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 1, 1922 in Ruth to the late Robert and Mary (Hessling) Braun. He and Loraine Miller were united in marriage on November 30, 1946 in Minden City. Clarence was a lifelong resident of Huron County and a retired Sigel Township farmer. He enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends. He loved playing cards belonging to two card clubs, and enjoyed golfing. You could usually find him in his wood shop or outside gardening. Clarence was on the school boards of the Eccles School and Huron Intermediate School District for 47 years where he served as president and treasurer of both boards. He was instrumental in the building of the Huron Area Technical Center. He was a member of the Harbor Beach, Port Hope and Bad Axe Retirees Clubs. Clarence was a member of the Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church where he served as an usher, eucharistic minister and was a member of the men's club and the Knights of Columbus OLLH Council. He was a Farm Bureau member and also a dealer for Super-Cross Seed Company. Clarence was a volunteer at the Red Cross Blood drawings, Relay for Life Cancer Walks, and was named Volunteer of the Year for the City of Harbor Beach. He was an active member of the Tip of the Thumb Square Dance Club and enjoyed "calling" square dances. He is survived by his wife, Loraine, of Harbor Beach; 15 children; nine sons, Dan Braun and his fiancée, Joan, of McHenry, Illinois, Richard Braun and his wife, Linda, of Warren, Jim Braun and his wife, Mitzi, of Columbia, Tennessee, Gary Braun and his wife, Kathleen, of Lakeland, Florida, Douglas Braun and his wife, Sharon, of Macomb Township, Thomas Braun and his wife, Bonnie, of Caro, Cliff Braun and his fiancée, Jacki, of Harbor Beach, Joe Braun, of Ubly, and Jeffrey Braun and his wife, Patti, of Bad Axe; six daughters, Deb Wruble and her husband, Ron, of Harbor Beach, Kay Briolat and her special friend, Randy, of Ubly, Tammie Schadd and her husband, Mark, of Croswell, Connie Davis and her husband, Chris, of St. Clair, Wendy Davis and her husband, Kyle, of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, and Kirstie Schive and her husband, Michael, of Altus, Oklahoma; 47 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat grandchildren; two brothers, Leo (Virginia) Braun, of Bad Axe, and Earl (Shirley) Braun, of Harbor Beach; sister, Margaret Swenson and her friend, Jerry, of Clinton Township; sister-in-law, Wilma Braun, of Harbor Beach; brothers-in-law, Robert (Ramona) Tschirhart, of Port Hope, and Joe Cardomone, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Braun; and two sisters, Gladys Cardomone and Magdalene Tschirhart. A Funeral Mass will be at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2007, in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach, with Fr. T.J. Fleming officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Florence L. Kundinger Florence L. Kundinger, 82, of Sebewaing, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City following a brief illness. She was born July 19, 1924 in Kilmanagh, daughter of the late John E. and Emma (Nietzke) Engelhardt. She was united in marriage to Edward Kundinger Jr. on October 2, 1948 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2003. Florence had been employed at Defoe Shipbuilding in Bay City during World War II. She also had been employed at the Michigan Sugar Company in Sebewaing and Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Bad Axe. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Florence enjoyed the game of golf and traveled extensively throughout the United States. However, family was her most treasured gift in life. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Throughout the years, she generously gave of herself the gift of time, support, patience and comfort. She has given her family a lifetime of memories that they will value throughout their lives. Surviving are two daughters, one son and their spouses; Connie (Larry) Sonntag, of Bay City; Becky (Elliot) Ruben, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Todd (Gail) Kundinger, of Midland; ten grandchildren, Tad, Tessa, Evan, Tyler, Layne, Breanne, Chris, Anthony, Adam and Ally; also two great grandchildren, Carter and Tanner; one brother and sister-in-law, Orin (Francis) Engelhardt, of Sebewaing; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold "Buzz" and Victor Engelhardt. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2007, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. The Rev. Daniel Hahn will officiate with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Radio Mission Fund. Julius Gillum Julius Gillum, 67, of Port Austin, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007. He was born November 17, 1939 in Detroit to the late Ellis M. Gillum and Anna Queen. Mr. Gillum was a resident of Port Austin for three years. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing cards. He is survived by two sons, Jay (Pam) Gillum and Paul Gillum, both of Arizona; one sister, Lillian Wilke; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde. Chaplin Chuck Rondo will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Paula Margaret Nugent/McGinnis Paula Margaret Nugent/McGinnis died Friday, January 5, 2007, at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. She was born August 26, 1929 to Alger Nugent and Christy McKinnon Nugent in Bad Axe. She resided there until 1937. She married Martin McGinnis on December 20, 1984 in Boyne City. Surviving are her husband, Martin; sister, Mildred Smigiel; brother-in-law, Ray Jones; nephews, James, John Joseph, John Mark, and Matthew Jones, John Alger, James and Peter Nugent; nieces, Stonna Mitchell, Dottie Dremer, Pamela Murray, Christeria Schuette, Caroline Smigiel, Mary Wren, Sarah Stephenson; stepchildren, Mark Craig, Michael, Christopher and Janice; nephews-in-law, Dave, Harry, and Ken; niece-in-Iaw, Donna Nugent; close friends, Scott Munro, Imelda Kolton, Betty Fritzler, and Margie Fonger; and many grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters, Dorothy, Dolores and Jane; brothers, James and Jack; sisters-in-law, Ann and Midge; niece, Dottie; and nephew, Michael. Parker, 53, of Harbor Beach, passed away Monday, January 15, 2007, at Harbor Beach Community Hospital. Born in Harbor Beach on August 11, 1953, he is the son of Jerome Parker and the late Madeline (Scoviac) Parker. Dennis was a former employee of the MidWest Rubber Plant in Deckerville working there for 24 years. He currently was an employee of the Harbor Beach Resort Association working on the golf course. He enjoyed working outdoors cutting wood or cutting grass and he enjoyed playing pool. Surviving are his son, Ryan Parker, of Harbor Beach; daughter, Mandy Jo Parker, of Northville; his father, Jerome Parker, of Harbor Beach; sister, Linda Sosnoski and her husband, Blaine, of Bad Axe; brother, Gerald Parker and his wife, Bea, of Harbor Beach; two stepdaughters, Debbie Mixter, of Grand Rapids, and Tami Grover, of Canton. "Kim" Eurich, 76, of Linwood, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at the Carriage House. She was born October 30, 1930 to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Mrozinski) Kuczkowski. She graduated from St. James Catholic School in 1949. Kim worked at Sohigro Fertilizer Company and M Supply Plumbing Company. She was most recently employed at Saginaw Bay Yacht Club. Kim enjoyed crocheting, crafts and maintained her wonderful sense of humor to the end. Surviving Kim are her children, Sandra (Ron) Fick, of Saginaw, Russell (Teri) Eurich, Andrew (Sharon) Eurich, all of Sebewaing, and Lisa Eurich, of Bay City; her grandchildren, Matt, Drew, Jessica, Melissa, Jeremy and Benjamin; a sister, Sue (Al) Linkowski; a brother, John (Lillian) Kuczkowski; several nieces and nephews; her long-time friend, Cass Kusey and his family, to whom she was close. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, David Andrew; granddaughter, Kelly Jo Eurich; and her sister Joan Wingard. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at St. Anne Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Kowalczyk presiding with burial in St. Anne Cemetery. Frank Ciaramitaro Frank Ciaramitaro, 93, of Walnut Creek, California, died Sunday, January 14, 2007, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center. He was born February 18, 1913 in Detroit to Alessandro and Paulina (LaRosa) Ciaramitaro. He married Dorothy Wentworth on Sept. 7, 1940 in Detroit. She died June 12, 1988. Frank served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Del Monte as a sales executive retiring after 37 years. Frank is survived by his children, Dr. David Ciaramitaro, of Ridgecrest, California, Dr. Michael Ciaramitaro, of Ypsilanti, and Thomas (Wendy) Ciaramitaro, of Concord, California; grandchildren, Thomas, Paul, Susanna, Samuel, Joanna and Rebekah; sisters, Antonia Maceri and Josephine DiPietro; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Ciaramitaro, in 1996; brothers, John Ciaramitaro and Anthony Ciaramitaro; sister, Francis D'Angelo. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City. Scott Mills of St. Pancratius Catholic Church will officiate. Christner Harlan A. Christner, 68, of Tucson and formerly of Pigeon, died Wednesday evening, January 17, 2007, at Marlette Regional Hospital, Hospice Unit. He was born December 10, 1938 in Pigeon to the late Oarie and Ruth (Rook) Christner. Harley graduated from Pigeon High School and attended Bay City Junior College for one year. In 1958, he joined the U.S. Air Force returning to Pigeon in 1962. He then went to Wayne State University where he received a bachelor's degree in business. Harley stayed at Wayne State several years as a counselor. In 1980, he moved to Tucson and was a professor at Pima Community College, where he taught business courses. He retired last summer for health reasons and returned to Huron County. In his free time, he enjoyed photography. Surviving are two sons, David and Dan Christner of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter, Beth (Jim) Warner, of Commerce Township; two grandchildren, Lauren and Nicholas; two brothers, Gary (Janet) Christner, of Tucson, and Dennis Christner, of American Canyon, California; and two sisters, Joyce (Richard) Deering, of Sandusky, and Shirley (Bill) McGee, of Elkton. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2007, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton, with the Rev. (Dobson) Gray, 68, of Taylor and formerly of Bad Axe, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at the Heartland Briarwood Manor in Flint. Carron was born November 17, 1939 to the late James and Mary (Gainor) Dobson in Bad Axe. She was a graduate of Bad Axe High School and a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe. She enjoyed gaming, playing poker, traveling to Arizona, California and Germany, sports, diamonds and jewelry. Carron especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her companion of 33 years, Bob Adams; two daughters, Lori (Dale) Miller, of Emmett, and Renee (Paul) Verbeke, of Davison; a son, James (Sue) Crosby; three sisters, Leila Quigley, of Farmington Hills, Elaine (Edward) Walsh, of Sterling Heights, and Valerie DeFrane, of Lapeer; two brothers, Roger Dobson, of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Bradley (Mary) Dobson, of Port Austin; four stepchildren, John (Doris) Adams, of Novi, Kristi Wheeler, of Milford, Patti (Rick) Booker, of Milford, and Paul Adams, of Springfield, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; one great grandchild, Mikey; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in the Colfax Township Cemetery.
