Dutcher Sr. Kenneth R. Dutcher Sr., 83, of Sebewaing, died Friday, March 16, 2007, in Sebewaing as the result of injuries sustained in a house fire. He was born March 23, 1923 in Sebewaing, son of the late Norman and Sophia (Speath) Dutcher. He was united in marriage to Mary H. Ashmore in 1964. She preceded him in death on June 19, 1971. Ken had been a commercial fisherman for many years and also had been an attendant nurse at the Caro Regional Center for 18 years before retiring in 1987. He enjoyed hunting and bowling. Surviving are one son and two daughters, Kenneth R. Dutcher and his wife, Julie, of Owendale, Cynthia Dutcher Freeman, of Sebewaing, Brenda Lee Thomas and her husband, Donnie Ramsey, of Arlington, Texas; 12 grandchildren; two great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Brian; four brothers, Floyd, Earl, Harold and Wesley Dutcher; and four sisters, Erma Hallett, Ethel Rupp, LaVern Fales and Violet Myers. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing. The Rev. William Wright will officiate with burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home in Sebewaing. Martin William Hessell Martin William Hessell, 46, of Ubly, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at home of apparently natural but unknown causes. Martin was born September 1, 1960 in Detroit to William and Margaret (Prindle) Hessell. He grew up in Warren and after attending school, served in the U.S. Army. In February 1991, he married Sherry Ponn and the next year he and his family moved to Huron County. Sherry died March 15, 2007. Martin had been employed at U.S. Manufacturing in Bad Axe. Martin is survived by his children, Joseph Nietubicz, Angela Hessell and Martin Hessell II, all of Ubly; parents, William and Margaret Hessell, of Caseville; aunts and uncles, Donald (Judy) Hessell, of Hazel Park, Karen (Greg) Kelly, of Warren, Frank (Carol) Prindle, John (Joan) Prindle, Marylyn Prindle, all of Grand Rapids, and William (Marianne) Prindle, of Garden Peninsula. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Nietubicz. Sherry was born July 12, 1963 in Detroit and grew up there. She married Martin Hessell in February 1991. Martin died March 14, 2007. She moved to Huron County in 1992 with her family. She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. Sherry is survived by her children, Joseph Nietubicz, Angela Hessell, and Martin Hessell II, all of Ubly; parents-in-law, William and Margaret Hessell, of Caseville; brother, Tony (Jennifer) Proctor, of Durand; and uncle, Ray Carrigan, of Kalkaska. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Nietubicz; and her mother, Carol Proctor (nee Carrigan). Bill was born November 15, 1926 in Verona Township, son of the late Joseph and Leona (Smalley) LaBuhn. William and Rose O'Parka were married January 19, 1957 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. William attended Martin Country School in Verona Township and graduated from Bad Axe High School. He was a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly since 1963. He was a member of the Ubly Fox Hunters and a member of the Operating Engineers Local Union No. 324 since 1947. Bill retired from C.J. Rogers in Flint in 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with family. He is survived by his wife, Rose, of Bad Axe; three daughters, Rosalee Young and her husband, Tom, of Bay City, Rochelle Stacks and her husband, Joe, of Richland, Washington, Tracee Tisch and her husband, Dave, of Lake Orion; one son, Steve LaBuhn and his wife, Vicki, of Bad Axe; seven grandchildren, Raelene and Stacey Young, Kris Lattin, Adam and Alayna Tisch, Shelby and Eric LaBuhn; two great grandchildren, Isaac and Melea Lattin; two sisters, Genevieve Dietert, of Redford, and Adlean Hopkins, of Detroit. "Chet" Leppek, 83, former Ubly resident, died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Kenilworth Care and Rehab in Sebring, Florida. Chet was born in Paris Township. He served as a Staff Sgt. with the U.S. Marine Air Wing in World War II. Chet served on the Ubly Village Council. He was a former officer of the TVO and member of the Lions Club and St. John's, all in Ubly. He retired from the Nestles Company. He worked in Ubly and Fulton, New Yor. He moved to Sebring, Florida in 1982 from Waterloo, New York. He is survived by his loving wife, Bette; daughter, Linda (Michael) Woods, of Alto; sons, Vern (Linda) Leppek, of Sebring, Florida and Bryce (Katherine) Leppek, of Medford, Oregon; brothers, Melvin (Viginia), Gerald (Frances), Alphonso (Marilyn) and Paul Leppek, all of Michigan; grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Eli and Beth. Mrs. Grace Peruski Mrs. Grace Peruski, 93, of Ubly, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Grace was born November 9, 1913 in Parisville, daughter of the late Andrew and Martha (Peplinski) O'Parka. She married Henry Peruski on October 13, 1932 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1995. Mrs. Peruski attended MacMillan Country School in Parisville. She was a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Grace enjoyed cooking, traveling and bowling in her younger years. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved being with her grandchildren. She enjoyed her plants. Thomas Salcido Thomas Salcido, 82, of Gagetown, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, March 18, 2007, with his family and friends at his side. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 4, 1925, a son of Thomas and Trinidad (Padilla) Salcido. On July 14, 1947, he married Donna Burrows in Toledo, Ohio. Thomas liked to pass the time by playing bingo and enjoyed the out-of-doors. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and of the Michigan State Spartans. He was also a music enthusiast and an accomplished guitar player and had proudly been the author of both music and lyrics of the Bad Axe Polka. He is survived by Donna, his wife of 59 years; their children, Thomas Ray (Tammy) Salcido, Michael (Jennifer) Salcido, Joan (Wayne) Tomich, and Donna Lee (Andy) Nichols; 14 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; brothers, Tony, John (Lucy) and Joseph (Regina). Zimmerman Savanah M. Zimmerman, 18, of Sebewaing, died Friday, March 16, 2007, in Sebewaing as the result of a house fire. She was born September 23, 1988 in Bay City. Surviving are her mother, Cynthia L. Dutcher Freeman, of Sebewaing; one son, Raymond Scott Zimmerman; two sisters, Dana Leigh Zimmerman, of Saginaw, and Allison Jean Zimmerman, of Sebewaing; grandmother, Dorothy Zimmerman, of Florida; one nephew, Eric K. Anderson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She loved fishing, going to the beach, and swimming. Lila Alma Zitzer Lila Alma Zitzer, 72, of Flint, formerly of Williamsburg and Corbin, Kentucky, died Friday, March 16, 2007, in her son's home in Flint following a short illness. She was born April 13, 1934 in Dearborn to Gordon and Gertrude (Batrow) Wilton. She married Frank W. Mitchell on December 10, 1956 in Millington. He died June 13, 1981. She then married Archie Petrey on June 17, 1978 in Corbin, Kentucky. He died March 25, 1995. Lila later married Don Zitzer on March 5, 2005 in Williamsburg, Kentucky. He died February 6, 2006. Lila enjoyed crafting including making dolls and crocheting. She liked antiquing and fishing. She loved to cook and was famous for her baked beans. Stimpfel, 99, of Ruth, died Sunday morning, March 18, 2007, at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. She was born September 24, 1907 in Minden City, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Jebroski) Sadro. She married Arnold Stimpfel on September 24, 1934 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1971. Dolores was a graduate of a country school. She farmed with her family near Charleston until moving to Ruth in 1972. She worked as a waitress at the Minden City Tavern. She was a former parishioner at St. John Catholic Church in Forestville and was a current parishioner at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth where she was an honorary member of the Christian Mothers. Dolores was a member of the Minden City Senior Citizens and the Faith Grange Farm Organization. She enjoyed cards, reading, crossword puzzles, sewing and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Kolomak, of Minden City; one son, Thomas Stimpfel and his wife, Doris, of Cass City; one son-in-law, John Terbrack, of Southgate; 11 grandchildren, John (Sandy) Terbrack, Richard Terbrack, James Terbrack and his special friend, Sandy Meeks, Joseph (Laura) Terbrack, Judy (Brian) Valenti, Tammie (Michael) Robb, Renae Ritter, Thomas C. Wednesday, March 21, 2007 Brendon R. Crosby Brendon R. Crosby, 8, of Silverwood, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 19, 2007, in Caro Community Hospital. He was born November 18, 1998 in Saginaw to Scott Salvador and Patsy Crosby. Brendon attended Highland Pines School in Caro. He loved to play with Elmo and watch Cat in the Hat movies. Brendon loved being with his little brother, Colton. Thursday, March 22, 2007 Virginia Ignash Virginia Ignash, 85, of Kinde, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 20, 2007. She was born May 6, 1921, daughter of the late Jacob and Josephine (Indo) Boutorwick. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Ignash on October 15, 1938 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kinde. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1997. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Kinde and was a faithful member at St. Edwards Catholic Church and Sodality for 57 years. She was a lector and for years took care of the altars in church. She enjoyed gardening, took pride in all her lovely flowers, playing cards, playing her accordion and attending the U & I Club. She was so grateful for all her neighbors. They were a blessing to her. She is survived by three children, John Ignash, of Arizona, Sharon (Edward) Murawski, of Troy, and Fred Ignash, of Warren; five grandchildren, Amy Ignash, Jennifer Kepler, Wendi Lillie, Melanie Hume and Gregory Ignash; and four great grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Alexandra and Ava Rose. She was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Ben, Edward and Leonard; three sisters, Nellie, Florence and Bertha. Klawon, 84, of Caseville and formerly of Forestville, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Tendercare of Cass City after a short illness. She was born September 4, 1922 in Parisville, daughter of the late Aloise and Lucy (Cook) Susalla. She married Robert W. Klawon on May 29, 1943 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2004. Marion was a graduate of Filmore County School. She farmed in the Forestville area with her husband and family. She worked at Schumacher Tavern in Minden City. Mrs. Klawon was a resident of Minden City for 57 years before moving to Caseville in 1983. She was a former parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Forestville where she was former secretary of the Altar Society. She has been a parishioner of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon since 1983. Marion enjoyed fishing with her husband and family, gardening and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by one son, Mark Klawon Sr. and his wife, Donna, of Minden City; six grandchildren, Tech Sgt. Darrin Klawon, U.S. Air Force and his wife, Michelle, of Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, Mark Klawon Jr., of Bad Axe, Ryan, Kris and Keri Klawon, of Minden City, and Melissa Ingles, of Lansing; three great granddaughters, Halley, Mariah and Chelsey Klawon; two sisters, Dorothea Klawon, of Port Hope, and Virginia Leppek and her husband, Melvin, of Ubly; and one brother, Elmer Susalla, of Harbor Beach. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lori Ingles; brother-in-law, Arthur Klawon Jr.; and one sister-in-law, Susan Susalla.
