John Leon Abraham Jr. July 10, 1917 - September 18, 1996 Mr. John Leon Abraham Jr., 79, of Harbor Beach died Wednesday September 18 1996, at St. Mary's Medical Center of Saginaw. He was born July 10, 1917 in Sigel Township, son of the late John Abraham Sr and Mary (Kucharczyk) Abraham. He married Marjorie Murray on April 28, 1945 at Holy Trinity Parish of Smith Comers. She preceded him in death on August 16, 1960. He married Mamie (Osentowski) -Gomoluch on January 2, 1971. He attended a country school Sigel #6. He farmed for a while, was a Thumb Area Transit Bus Driver in Huron County, worked for the Huron County Road Commission for 15 years, worked for Saginaw Asphalt and Rooney Construction. John served in World War II in Alaska and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was member of the American Legion Post 197 of Harbor Beach and a parishioner of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church for 23 years. Surviving are his wife: Maime four sons: Robert (Susan) Abraham of Bad Axe; Ronald Abraham and Donna O'Toole of Burnsville, North Carolina; Michael (Deborah) Abraham of Bad Axe; Roger (Patricia) Abraham of Jackson, Michigan; two daughters: Marie (David) Yaroch of Ubly; Ann (Kevin) Smith of Pocatello, Idaho; four stepchildren: Diane Gomoluch of Cass City; Marie Kowaleski of Harbor Beach; Bob (Kathy) Gomoluch of Port Huron; William (Tammy) Gomoluch of Deerfield; ten grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one step-great granddaughter; one brother: Cass (Sally) Abraham of Ubly;‘ two sisters: Agnes (Art) Essenmacher of Harbor Beach; Dorothy (Henry) Elandt of Port Hope. He was preceded in death by two half-brothers one half-sister, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were Saturday at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church. Rev Edward Konieczka, pastor, officiated with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery of Bad Axe. Military graveside honors were given by the American Legion Post 197 of Harbor Beach.
