Alent, 69, of Ubly died Saturday, February 6, 1993, at his home after an apparent heart attack. He was bom November 22, 1923, in Parisville, son of Laura (Trepkowski) Alent and the late Xavier Alent. He married Margaret Abraham on June 24, 1947, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. Mr. Alent is an eighth-grade graduate of rural school, was a farmer with his dad and served with the Navy in the Asia-Pacific Theater. He was a milk hauler, was employed by the Huron County Road Commission and worked in construction. Mr. Alent worked as a milk handler for the Nestle Processing Company and was a security guard for the Marriott Hotel at Marco Island, Florida, for 10 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of this Parisville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5740 of Ruth and a parishioner of St John's Catholic Church of Ubly. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. James (Georgiann) Chinoski of Ubly, Mrs. Clifford (Barbara) Glaza of Livonia, Mrs. Alan (Brenda) Kincaid of Ubly, Mrs. Charles (Jodi) Wright of Ubly; two sons, Paul and his wife. Shelly, and Joseph and his wife, Sylvia, all of Minden City; his mother, Laura of Ubly, 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cass (Margaret) Grifka of Ubly and Mrs. Stephen (Helen) Ulfig of Ruth; three brothers, Earl and his wife, Meg, of Newport Richey, Florida, David and his wife Maryann, of Bad Axe, and Eugene and his wife, Floy, of Brighton. He was preceded in death by one sister, Alma Peruski, on July 1,1985. Services were 10:00 am. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ubly. The Rev. Peter Gaspeny, pastor, officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery of Parisville. Military honors were provided by the Parisville VFW Post 5740 of Ruth. Arrangement were made by Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.
