Elizabeth Caroline (Dudek) Ameling
September 8, 1902 - July 29, 1980
Mrs. Elizabeth C. Ameling ,77, of 3716 Eastmont, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday in 
Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Born on September 8, 1902, in Ruth, 
Michigan, she lived in South Bend for 55 years, coming from Ruth.   On June 1, 
1924, in South Bend, she married Martin T. Ameling.  He died in 1959.  She is 
survived by three sons, Richard W., Arthur K. and Frederick H., all of South 
Bend, 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Stella 
Dornhecker of Panama City, Florida. 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, of which 
she was a member.  Rev. Denis Blank, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in 
St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. 
Thursday in the Welsheimer North Chapel. 52803 U.S 31 N., where the rosary will

Notes:  Parents: Joseph & Mary (Glaza) Dudek.  Marriage records shows she married 
Martin Ameling on June 16, 1924 in Noble County, Indiana and not June 1 as stated 
in obituary.
