Donald Paul Armstrong
March 14, 1934 – February 23, 2016
Donald Paul Armstrong, 81, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, and formerly of Bad Axe, 
passed away peacefully on to Heaven February 23, 2016, at Hope Hospice, after a 
brief illness.  Paul was the son of Woodrow and Nellie (Dunlap) Armstrong, born 
March 14, 1934, in Bad Axe.  He graduated from Bad Axe High School and then 
attended Central Michigan University before entering the Air Force in 1953.  He 
was an aircraft mechanic.  He married Aloys Pangborn in Bad Axe in 1957.  They 
resided in Flint and then in Ubly.  Paul worked at Hamill Maufacturing, P & A 
TV, Michigan Oven, and several other manufacturing companies in the Thumb 
area.  He later married Gloria Messing Baker in 1985. They resided in Bad Axe 
and in Florida.  Paul had a passion for aviation and was a private pilot.  He 
enjoyed RC airplanes and shared his passion by teaching others to fly and build 
them.  He also was a HAM radio operator.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gloria; and his children, Linda 
Armstrong Severino (Jimmy), Sharon Armstrong, Michael Baker (Kim), Linda Baker 
Chumbler (Michael); two grandchildren, Carson and Stella Chumbler; and his 
brother, David Armstrong (Janet), and their son, Dean.   He was preceded in 
death by his parents, Woodrow and Nellie (Dunlap) Armstrong; Aloys (Pangborn) 
Armstrong; and his nephew, Mark Armstrong.
A celebration of life took place at Grace Bible Church in Fort Myers, Florida.  
Cremation has taken place and burial will be in the Colfax Township Cemetery. 
There will be a memorial service held at First Baptist Church in Bad Axe at a
