These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. _____________________________________________________________________ Pfc James J Artman Huron Soldier Killed In Crash On Way Home Funeral services will be held Friday in Harbor Beach for Pfc James J Artman, 22, who was fatally injured in an automobile accident Sun at Rochelle, IL, while returning home to Harbor Beach from Camp Carson, CO, on furlough. The young soldier was raised by his grandparents, Mr and Mrs John Artman, on a farm near Harbor Beach. His grandparents moved to Harbor Beach 5 years ago. Born Dec 24, 929, at Bad Axe, he was the son of the late Mr and Mrs Martin Artman. His mother died when he was 6 days old and his father was killed in a fall from a barn when his son was 13 years of age. Pvt Artman entered the army Jan 12, 1951 and was scheduled for discharge next January. He had been trained as a tank commander. Surviving him are his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Fri from Our Lady of Lake Huron Cath ch. Burial will be in SS Peter and Paul cemetery at Ruth. Huron Tribune Date unknown
