Christine Battersby, age 80, died May 6, 1993 in her home.  She was born July 
21, 1912 in Parisville, Michigan, the daughter of the late Matias (Matthew) and 
Lucy (Zmich) Peplinski.  She married Clayton Battersby on March 2 1946 in 
Detroit.

She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Detroit.  She is 
survived by her husband, Clayton; two sons, Joseph E. of Columbia, Tennessee, 
James C. of Port Sanilac; five brothers, Lawrence Peplinski of Carsonville, 
Bernard and Benjamin Peplinski both of Port Sanilac, Casmier Peplinski of 
Dearborn Heights, Ervin Peplinski of Prudenville; four sisters, Beatrice Husson 
of Port Sanilac, Sr. Agnes Peplinski, O.P. of Utica; Elizabeth Osantowski of 
Warren, Sabina Moses of Hillman; four grandchildren.

Services were held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Port Sanilac.  The Rev. R.K. 
Leleur officiated.  Burial in the Old St. Mary Cemetery.
