May 8, 1934 – June 5, 2017
Helen Florence Blarek, age 83, June 5, 2017.   She was born on May 8, 1934 in 
Detroit, Michigan; the daughter of Josephine (nee Wisniewski) and Theodore 
Karakas.   Helen was known to her family and friends as a master pierogi chef.

Beloved wife of the late Ernest.  Loving mother of Karen Luckett, Theodore 
(Kim) Ziola, John (Sherry) Boerder, and Barbara Blarek.   Cherished grandmother 
of 5.  Great-grandmother of 3.  Dear sister of Benedicta Winters, Charles 
Karakas, predeceased by 6 brothers and sisters.

Visitation Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the A.H. Peters 
Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd. at Masonic, Warren.  A funeral service will 
be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home.  Interment 
will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan.  Published A.H.
