Timothy James Block
October 15, 1956 - November 26, 2015
Timothy “TJ” Block, Captain USN Ret., age 59, passed from this life on November 
26, 2015.  Tim was born to Raymond and Rosemary Block on October 15, 1956 in 
Minden City, Michigan.  Tim or TJ as he was known in the Navy served his country 
in the US Navy for 36 years, earning the rank of Captain. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Block and leaves behind a life 
full of memories to be cherished by his wife of 36 years, Patricia Block; and 
their three children, Jennah Coltrain and her husband, Michael, of Hawaii, Cady 
Block, PhD of Texas and Jasen Block and his wife, Brittany, of Georgia; mother, 
Rosemary Messing Block; three brothers, Roger Block and his wife of Vermont, 
Paul Block and his wife, Dianne, of North Carolina and Les Block of North 
Carolina; two sisters, Lynn McMillan and her husband Reggie of North Carolina 
and Barbara Swan and her husband, Chris, of Virginia. 

A celebration of Tim's life was held December 5, 2015 in the Paul Helton Chapel 
of Forest Lawn West.  Burial followed with military honors in Forest Lawn West 
Cemetery.  The family requests memorial donations be made in Tim’s name to the 
Adenoid Cyctic Carcinoma Research Fund at www.accrf.org.  Published Minden City 
Herald Thursday December 17, 2015.
