William Booms
December 7, 1931 - February 16, 2012 
William Booms passed away Thursday February 16, 2012, at the age of 80.  Bill 
was born on December 7th, 1931 in Harbor Beach, Michigan.  He was the oldest 
son of the late Marcus and Mary Booms.  He served in the U.S. Army and was 
later employed as a merchant Marine.  During his career he was employed by US 
Steel for 15 years and then spent 25 years with Medusa Cement working on the 
Medusa Challenger, retiring as Chief Engineer in 1991.  He was known to be an 
accomplished mechanic and master of all trades.  He is survived by his devoted 
wife of 52 years, Audrey Booms; children Nancy Paul (Ron) Orange Park, Florida, 
Mark Booms (Beverly) Jamestown, Indiana, Jon Booms, Orlando, Florida and Dena 
Arcaro (Paul) Mills River, North Carolina.  Eight grandchildren, Ryan Paul, 
William and Valerie Booms, Jacob and Madison Booms and Ariana, Adam and Brandon 
Arcaro.  Twelve siblings; brothers, Don, Jim, Chuck, Dennis and Raymond and 
Sisters; Dorothy, Arlene, Helen, Grace, Ann, Rose Marie and Joan. Bill was a 
devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was passionate about 
spending time with his family and enjoyed the time spent at his vacation home 
in Hartwell, Georgia.  He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle 
spirit and optimistic outlook on life.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 
pm Tuesday February 21st at St. Ann's Catholic Church, DeBary, Florida.
