Marvin Booms
March 23, 1936 - September 16, 2012   
Marvin Booms, 76, of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012, at 
his home.  He was born on March 23, 1936, in Harbor Beach, to the late Leroy 
and Helen (Eppenbrock) Booms.  Marvin and Virginia Wrubel were united in 
marriage on October 3, 1959, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Parisville.  She 
preceded him in death on September 3, 2005.

Marvin was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Ruth Knights of 
Columbus, and the St. Anthony’s Men’s Club.  He was a retired farmer, and then 
worked for Michigan Sugar Co. for 23 years, as a mechanic.  He enjoyed visiting 
with friends and family, and playing cards and fishing.

He is survived by his children, Russell Booms and his wife, Lorie of Bad Axe, 
Roy Booms and his wife, Peg of Minden City, Dale Booms and his wife, Pam of 
Harbor Beach, Carol Fisher and her husband, Len of Kinde; daughter-in-law, 
Cindy Booms of Harbor Beach; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Alex, Evan, 
Douglas, Zackery, Hannah, Jessy and Adam; three brothers, Paul Booms and his 
wife, Shirley of Harbor Beach, Mike Booms and his wife, Linda of Shelby 
Township and Lloyd Booms and his wife, Liz of Ubly; four sisters, Donna Pulcer 
and her husband, Ray of Harbor Beach, Eileen Volmering and her husband, Jerome 
of Harbor Beach, Jean Booms of Farmington and Sharon Messing and her husband, 
Calvin of Manchester.  Marvin was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Booms.

Funeral Mass for Marvin will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at St. 
Anthony’s Catholic Church, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Burial will 
follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation for Marvin will be from 7 to 9 p.m. 
on Wednesday, from 2 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on 
Friday at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach.
