Booms January 18, 1935 - October 27, 2012 Eugene R. Booms, 77, was welcomed to his eternal home on October 27, 2012. He passed away at Huron Medical Center of Bad Axe. He was born on January 18, 1935, in Harbor Beach, to the late Frank and Theresa (Tenbusch) Booms. Eugene was united in marriage to Shirley Roberts on January 21, 1956, in Ruth. Eugene was a member and former parishoner of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Ruth, and Farm Bureau. He was a lifelong Sherman township farmer. He sailed the Great Lakes for a couple of years and he enjoyed going to the woods and cutting wood. His greatest love and joy was his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving family, Bernadette Roggenbuck and her husband,Terry of Harbor Beach, Margie Booms and her husband, Wayne of McFarlend, Wisconsin, Daniel Booms and his wife, Kim of Harbor Beach, Andrew Booms and his wife, Dawn of Harbor Beach, Joan Particka and her husband, Tim of Ubly; eight grandchildren, Ryan Roggenbuck, Andrea Lobert, Sarah Edgell, Stephanie Booms, Elizabeth Booms, Hannah Booms, Shannon Particka, Rebecca Particka; five great-grandchildren, Gabriel Lobert, Reese Lobert, William Roggenbuck, Nathan Roggenbuck and Brayden Edgell; six sisters, Beatrice Bishop of Memphis, Gertrude and Titus Slowitz of Palms, Eleanor Wooldridge of East Pointe, Gladys and Ira Wrubel of Harbor Beach, Marie Lang of China Township and Irene and Richard Lemanski of Harbor Beach; two brothers, Vincent and Bertha Booms of Harbor Beach and Angus and Judy Booms of Harbor Beach; and friend, Susie Weisner of Harbor Beach. Eugene was preceded in death by a son, John Booms; grandson, Eric; sister, Annabelle and her husband Bernard; brother, Ralph; brother, Melvin and his wife, Esther; his parents, Frank and Theresa; and brothers-in-law, Bill Bishop, Clarence Wooldridge and Donald Lang. Funeral Mass for Eugene will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lake Huron Church Cemetery. Visitation for Eugene will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. A scripture service will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Harbor Beach Community Hospital, Eastern Huron Ambulance Service or the donor’s choice.
