Stephen E. Booms
October 21, 1950 - November 16, 1967
Funeral rites were conducted Monday, November 20, for Stephen E. Booms, 17, who 
was fatally injured on Thursday November 16 when his car collided with two 
tractors driven by James and Daniel Schumacher, on Ruth Road, a half mile North 
of Ruth.  He died two hours later in the Harbor Beach Community Hospital.  

Stephen Booms was born October 21, 1950, in Harbor Beach.  He was a Senior in 
SS Peter and Paul High School at Ruth.  He is survived by his parents; six 
brothers, Kenneth, James, Robert and Warren Booms, all at home; Albert Booms, a 
seminary student at Memphis, Michigan and Gene Booms, a student in Chicago; six 
sisters, Mrs. Ray Mazure, Mrs. Lloyd Essenmacher and Mrs. Daniel Messing, all 
of Harbor Beach; Mrs. Robert Talaski, Bad Axe; Mrs. Macklin Bell, Tucson, 
Arizona and Mrs. Ronald Siemen, St. Clair Shores; and a grandmother, Mrs. Mary 
Scholtz, Harbor Beach.  
Remains were in the Burton E. Ramsey Funeral Home, where the rosary was recited 
at 8 p.m. on Sunday.  Funeral Services were conducted on Monday at 10 a.m. in 
St. Anthony Catholic Church, Helena, with Rev. Terrance Yule officiating.  
Burial was in the church cemetery.  Published Thursday November 23, 1967 THE

(Robert Talaski);  Ramona A. (Macklin Bell) and Clarice (Ronald Siemen).
