Vincent was born October 12, 1938 to the late Frank and Theresa (Tenbusch) Booms. Vincent married Bertha Frances Guza June 30, 1962. They celebrated 55 years of marriage together. Vincent served in the Army in Fort Leonard, Missouri. Vincent was a lifelong member of Saints Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church of Ruth. Together, Vincent & Bertha farmed. Vincent worked at Ruth Farmers Elevator for 46 years. He was a member of the Twin Hills Snowmobile Club. Vincent was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3823. Vincent enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed polka music and dancing to it, playing cards and making wine. Vincent is survived by his wife, Bertha of 55 years. His children, Roger Booms and his wife Denise of Ruth, Michael Booms and his wife Pam of Ruth, Ann Marie Dropiewski and her husband Mark of Ubly, Mark Booms of Vassar; his grandchildren; Calvin Booms, Ruth, Cory Booms and special friend Katie of Saginaw, Jennifer Durrant and her husband Jeff of Clay, Nicole Booms and special friend Justin of Florida, Kurt Booms of Saginaw, Katelyn Stevens and her husband Marcus of Tennessee, Ashley Cutcher and her husband Nicholas of Elkton, Bradley Dropiewski and his Fiancé Miranda of Ubly, Kyle Dropiewski and his special friend Lily of Bad Axe; great grandson Brody Cutcher of Elkton and a second due in October; his brother, Angus Booms; his sisters, Beatrice Bishop, Gertrude Salowitz, Eleanor Wooldridge, Gladys Wrubel and husband Ira, Irene Lemanski and husband Richard; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Klee and Anna and her husband Jim McIntosh; several nieces and nephews. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Theresa Booms, his brothers; Ralph Booms, Melvin Booms, Eugene Booms, his sisters; Annabelle Wruble and Marie Lang; nephew Robert Lemanski; in-laws; Bill Bishop, Titus Salowitz, Ester Booms, Clarence Woolridge, Don Lang, Bernard Wruble, Shirley Booms, Judy Booms, Leon Guza and George Klee. Mass of Christian burial for Vincent Booms will be 11:00 am Friday, May 11, 2018 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Holy Apostles Parish of Ruth. Rev. Christopher Coman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm and Friday from 10:00-10:45 am at the church only. There will be a rosary by the Ruth Knight of Columbus Council 3823 at 7:00 pm and a parish vigil service at 7:30 pm. Both services will be at the funeral home. Memorials are requested for the donor’s choice or to Vincent’s family. Please make any check for the family payable to his loving wife, Bertha. Vincent Booms of Harbor Beach was attempting to hold down the tonneau cover in the back of his pickup while his wife was driving in the high winds and fell off the truck due to the winds. The accident occurred near Klug and Premier Roads in Harbor Beach just before the Coast Guard Rescue in the city. Firemen administered CPR and East Huron Ambulance then transferred him to Harbor Beach Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
