John Arnold Booms  
January 8, 1946 - August 9, 1978
AMES, Iowa - John A. Booms, 32, formerly of Harbor Beach, died Wednesday in Ames 
after a brief illness.   He was born January 8, 1946, in Harbor Beach.   Mr. 
Booms graduated from Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic High School in 1964.  He 
spent four years in the United States Navy.  

He is survived by his wife. Mary Ellen, Ames; a daughter, Carrie Ann, Ames; a 
son, Jeffery John, Ames; his mother, Dorothy Booms, Harbor Beach; step-father, 
Allen Booms, Harbor Beach; and six sisters, Sister Harriett Booms, Granada, West 
Indies; Mrs. Catherine Elandt, California; Mrs. Shirley Suida, Arizona; and Mrs. 
Stella Kramer, Harbor Beach; Margaret Goniwicha, Ruth and Audrey Huska, Peoria, 
Illinois.  

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Ames.  
Visiting hours are in Stevens Funeral Home, Ames.  Published Times Herald (Port 
Huron, Michigan) Thursday August 10, 1978
