Eleanor A. (Roberts) Booms
December 29, 1932 – May 16, 2021
Eleanor A. Booms, 88, of Bad Axe, passed away on May 16, 2021 at Meadow Lane 
Assisted Living under hospice care.  She was born in Sheridan Township on 
December 29, 1932 to the late William and Marie (Peters) Roberts.  Eleanor 
graduated from Harbor Beach High School in 1950.  Eleanor married Floyd 
Booms on September 8, 1951 at St. Peter and Paul in Ruth, Michigan.  He 
preceded her in death on August 7, 2009.  Eleanor was a member of Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church/St. Hubert Parish where she was actively involved.  
She loved to play Bingo and Euchre, crocheting, needle work and cooking and 
baking.

She is survived by her children: John (Sue) Booms of Port Austin, Lawrence 
(Ann) Booms of Bay City, Linda (Jeff) Janks of Bad Axe, and Joann (Kevin) 
Osantoski of Bad Axe; her grandchildren: Cheryl (Kyle) Zwyer, Renee (Brian) 
Flanagan, Douglas (Molly) Booms, Bethany (Charles) Saliard, Bradley (Laura) 
Janks, Amy Janks (friend, Warren Maurer), Evan (Aimee) Osantoski and Miranda 
Osantoski; great-grandchildren: Bryn, Bresnan, Jameson, Quintin, Justin, 
Olivia, Penelope, Jack, Maren, Levi and Natalie.  Eleanor is also survived 
by her sisters-in-law: Marie Marsh and Virginia Roberts.  She was preceded 
in death by her siblings: Dorothy (Elmer) Schroeder, Geraldine (John) Nash, 
Leona (Henry) Heilig, Evelyn (Robert) Zmich, Louis Roberts and William 
Roberts. 

Mass of Christian burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on 
Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Fr. T.J. Fleming officiating.  Burial 
will follow at the church cemetery.  Visitation for Eleanor will be on 
Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel from 3 to 7 p.m. with a 
Scripture service at 6:30 p.m.  Visitation will also be at the church on 
Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.   Memorials may be offered to 
the St. Hubert Parish Food Pantry.  Published in Huron Daily Tribune on May
