Ethel Maude (Velia) Booms
December 18, 1931 - March 31, 1998
 Ethel M. Booms, age 66, of Sherman Township near Harbor Beach, passed away 
Tuesday, March 31, 1998 at her home following an apparent heart attack.  She was 
born December 18, 1931 in Elmira, New York.  She and Robert Siens were married 
December 24, 1951 in Cherry Pointe, South Carolina.  He preceded her in death on 
January 28, 1976.  She then married Raymond Booms on April 1, 1978 in Harbor 
Beach.  She was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a member of the United 
Methodist Church of Harbor Beach.  She enjoyed her pets and collecting pig 
figurines. 
Surviving are her husband, Raymond Booms of Harbor Beach; three sons, Robert 
Siens and his wife, Julie, of Minden City, Kenneth Siens and his wife, Diane, of 
Chandler, Arizona, and David Siens and his wife, Debra, of Ruth; two 
stepdaughters, Tammy Kreiner and her husband, Sam, of Peck, and Tina Carson of 
Melvin; seven grandchildren, Paula, : Bob, Becky, Michael, Chrissy, David and 
Tori; also four step-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Byers and her husband, Ed, 
of Horsehead, New York; and a brother, John Velia of New York. 

Funeral services were Friday at the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach.  Rev. 
Ralph Parkin, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated.  Burial was in the 
White Rock Cemetery.   Published Minden City Herald Thursday April 9, 1998.
