Kenneth Charles Booms
June 13, 1930 - November 9, 1996
Kenneth C. Booms, age 66, of Harbor Beach passed away Saturday, November 9, 1996 
in Harbor Beach Community Hospital following a short illness.  He was born June 
13, 1930 in Harbor Beach to Clarence and Laura (Scholtz) Booms.  He and Delphine 
Klug were married August 8, 1953 in Harbor Beach.  He was a corporal in the U.S. 
Army during the Korean Conflict serving in Germany.  Mr. Booms was President of 
Booms Silo Co. for many years until 1995.  He was on the Board of Chemical Bank-
Thumb Area of Caro.  He was an aviation enthusiast, flying planes for the last 
36 years.  He received his instrument rating, pilot proficiency award, and 
commercial pilot rating for single engine planes and he was a flight instructor 
and an active member and held offices of the Huron Aviation Club in Bad Axe. 

He is survived by his wife Delphine Booms of Harbor Beach; his mother, Laura 
Booms, Harbor Beach; four sons: Mark (Monica) Booms of Harbor Beach, Rodney 
(Chanda) Booms of Harbor Beach, Lane (Terri) Booms of Wayland, and Garth (Carol) 
Booms of Toledo, Ohio; two daughters, Cathy (Emmett) Trudeau of Harbor Beach and 
Sandy (Dana) Smithers of Saginaw; and fourteen grandchildren.  Mr. Booms is also 
survived by five brothers: James (Mary) Booms, Robert Booms and Gene (Emily) 
Booms, all of Harbor Beach, Albert (Nanita) Booms, Georgia, Warren (Anna) Booms, 
Saginaw; six sisters: Barb (Ray) Mazure, Marilyn (Lloyd) Essenmacher, Charlotte 
(Larry) Kranz, Harbor Beach, Ramona Bell, Texas, Matilda (Dan) Messing and 
Clarice (Ron) Siemen, Harbor Beach.  He was preceded in death of his father, 
Clarence Booms; a granddaughter, Andrea Wruble; a brother, Stephen Booms; and a 
sister, Judy Booms. 

Funeral services were Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic 
Church, Harbor Beach, with Rev.
Edward Konieczka, pastor officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.  
Arrangements were handled by Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach (A Golden Rule 
Funeral Home).  Published Harbor Beach Times Thursday November 14, 1996.
