Allen Albert Booms
April 22, 1911 – April 14, 1997
Allen A. Booms, 85, of Harbor Beach, passed away Monday, April 14, 1997, in the 
long-term care unit of Harbor Beach Community Hospital.  He was born April 22, 
1911 in Sand Beach Township to the late Joseph and Matilda (Wolschlager) Booms.  
He and Dorothy Scholtz were married February 26, 1957 in St. Anthony's in 
Helena.  She preceded him in death on May 21, 1991.  Allen was a parishioner of 
Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church and a member of St. Anthony's in Helena 
and the Men's Club.  He was also a former member of Farm Bureau.  He was a 
retired Sand Beach Township farmer. 

He is survived by six stepdaughters: Sr. Harriet Booms, I.H.M. of Monroe, 
Catherine (Edward) Elandt of Concord, California, Shirley (Raymond) Suida of 
Tuscon, Arizona, Stella (Jim) Kramer of Harbor Beach, Margaret (Ray) Goniwiecha 
of Ruth, Audrey (Emil) Huska of Ashville, North Carolina; 26 grandchildren, 16 
great grandchildren, three sisters: Mary Kramer of Harbor Beach, Florence 
Ramsich of Palms and Helen Scholtz of Harbor Beach.  He was preceded in death by 
a stepson: John Booms; two brothers: Joseph and Clarence Booms; five sisters: 
Cecelia Terbrack, Sarah Essenmacher, Amelia Booms, Adeline Wehner and Frances 
Booms.

Funeral services were in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Helena. Rev. Michael 
Dunckel, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Published 
Harbor Beach Times Thursday April 24, 1997.

Note:  His step-children were the children of his brother, Joseph.
