She was born October 27, 1906 in Rubicon Township, daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Wolschlager) Sholtz. She and Joseph Booms were married April 28, 1926 in Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death December 4, 1954. She later married Allen Booms on February 26, 1957 in St. Anthony's Church, Helena. Together they farmed until 1989 and retired in Harbor Beach. Mrs. Booms also taught piano lessons for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach; the Legion of Mary, the Extension Club, and the Harbor Beach Senior Citizens group. S he was a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church where she was the organist for 45 years. Surviving are here husband, Allen, Harbor Beach; six daughters, Sister Harriet Booms, IHM of Monroe, Catherine (Edward) Elandt, Concord, California, Shirley (Raymond) Suida, Tucson, Arizona, Stella (James) Kramer, Harbor Beach, Margaret (Raymond) Goniwiecha, Ruth, and Audrey (Emil) Huska, Ashville, North Carolina; 26 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Laura Booms, Harbor Beach. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald; two infant daughters, Helen and Magdeline; a son, John Booms, who died August 9, 1978; and a brother John Scholtz, who died in 1974. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 1991, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Helena. The Rev. Stephan Fillion, pastor, officiated along with Rev. Thomas McNamara, pastor of OLLH church.
