Rodney Alan Braun
June 22, 1964 - August 5, 2017
Rodney Alan Braun of Jackson, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord 
unexpectedly Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Henry Ford Allegiance Health at the age 
of 53.  Rod was the son of Rolland Clement and Elaine Fredericka (Neikamp) 
Braun.  He was born June 22, 1964 in Coldwater, Ohio.  Rod was a graduate of 
Coldwater Ohio High School and Defiance College in Ohio with his BS in Business 
Administrative.  He worked for Commonwealth Associates Inc. for the last 10 
years of his 30 years Purchasing Agent Career.  Rod loved college football 
especially his Ohio State Buckeyes.  He played 15 years of football from high 
school, college, to the Jackson Bombers.  He loved relaxing on their pontoon 
with his wife, loved playing with his furbaby Binny, fishing, and scroll saw and 
intarsia woodworking. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Lisa A. (Messing) Braun and 
furbaby Binny; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard A. and Ida Mae Messing 
of Ruth; brother, Rick Braun, of Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Carol Braun of 
Jackson, and Marsha Messing of Bad Axe; two nieces and two nephews.  Rod was 
preceded in death by his father; and brother, Randy Braun. 

A funeral Mass was held at the Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 
1111 Carlton Blvd., Jackson, Michigan 49203 at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Father Peter 
Lawrence, officiated.  According to Rod's wishes, cremation followed.  The 
family received friends at the Watson Funeral Chapel on Friday from 2:00-4:00 
and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday 
from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in memory of Rod, may be made to the 
Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Drive, Jackson, MI 49202.  Published Minden
