Catherine (Zimpkowski) Brzezinski
November 15, 1878 - July 16, 1955
Kinde, July 16 – Mrs. Catherine Brzezenski, 76, widow of Walter Brzeznski, 
died Saturday night in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leo Rice.  Born 
November 15, 1878, in Poland, Mrs. Brzezenski came to Port Austin in 1886.  
She and Michael Vigenski were married in 1898 in Port Austin and came to 
live in Lincoln Township.  He died December 26, 1924.  She and Mr. 
Brzezenski were later married.  He died February 28, 1955.  

Mrs. Brzezenski is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Rice, Mrs. James 
Butterwick, Detroit, and Mrs. Alex Prill and Mrs. Frank Schramski, both of 
Port Austin; two sons, John Vigenski, Port Austin, and Archie Vigenski, 
Kinde 42 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Mary 
Sosnowskl, Mrs. Edward Stockowski, Mrs. Anna Fisher and Mrs. Edward 
Goretski, and a brother, Albert Jimpkowski, all of Port Austin. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a. m. Wednesday in St. Mary’s 
Catholic church in Dwight Township.  Rev. H. S. Podsiad will officiate.  
Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Rosary devotions will be held at 
8:30 p. m. Tuesday.  Published Times Herald (Port Huron, Michigan) Sunday 
July 17, 1955

Note:  Born to Valentine & Josephine (Polega) Zimpkowski.  Married Michael 
Vigenski 1870-1923 in 1898.  Married Walter Brzezinski
