Robert P Buckley,
Robert P Buckley, 77, Bad Axe shoe store merchant and very active in civic 
affairs, died Sat morning in Mt Sinai Hospital, Detroit of heart disease. Mr 
Buckley established a shoe store in Bad Axe in 1902 and operated ever since. His 
Son, Spencer L Buckley, has conducted the business with his father in recent 
years. He served for 20 years as secretary manager of the Huron county Fair, prior 
to 1940. In 1939 and 1940 he acted as assistant manager of the MI State Fair. Mr 
Buckley served for several years on the Bad Axe city council.
