Morris, age 89, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am, Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Frank Aaas family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Sunday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. On Sunday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 7:00 pm. After the rosary, a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service will take place followed by a 3rd and 4th Degree Chalice Ceremony conducted by the K of C Holy Family Council #4285 and the Leon Satkowiak Assembly #0524. On Monday visitation will be from 11:00am until 3:00pm and again from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Tuesday morning, Frank will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Boy Scout, Troup 107, Cub Scout Pack 155 or St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Frank was born August 3, 1919 in Bay City, Michigan, the son of the late William and Martha (Trepkowski) Burdulis. He was united in marriage to Arveilla Klein, who preceded him in death on August 9, 1999. On October 18, 2004, Frank was united in marriage to Helen Cornell. He worked for 41 years a supervisor at Buick Motor Division, retiring in October of 1984 and was also an active parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #4285, Fourth Degree, the Boy Scouts of America Tall Pine Council and the Mt. Morris, and St. MaryAaas, Senior Citizens, as well as the Krapohl Senior Center. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Helen; children, David and wife Jean Burdis and Richard and wife Janice Burdis; step-children, Patricia and husband Sam Brooks, Barbara and husband Dan Bennett, Ruth and husband Larry Stoinski, William and wife Candace Cornell and Linda Kearney and husband Joe Abrain; grandchildren, David Burdis Jr., Lisa and husband Chad Fuller, Jennifer and husband George Besko, Rebecca and husband Brad Alvord and Stephen and wife Mary Burdis; ten step grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and sixteen step great grandchildren; brothers, Edward Burdis, Robert and wife Gloria Burdis and Eugene and wife Mary Lou Burdis and brothers-in-law, Whitney Meilstrop, and Allen Alcorn. Frank is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents and first wife, Arveilla, Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Sue Ann; brother, Walter and sisters, Dorothy, Delores, Evelyn and Adeline; brother-in-law, Dale and sister-in-law, Mary Jane.
