Bernice Ann Burkhard, 78 HARBOR BEACH- Bernice Ann Burkhard, 78, died 
Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Survived by her husband Edwin Burkhard. Service will 
be Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic 
Church. Visitation for Bernice will be Thursday from 3-9p.m. in the Ramsey 
Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Friday will be in the church 
beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11a.m.

BERNICE ANN BURKHARD, age 78 of Harbor Beach, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 
2011 at her home under hospice care.  She was born on January 14, 1933 in 
Tyre, to the late Peter and Frances (Grimski) Zurek.  Bernice married 
Leonard Gosdzinski in 1949.  He preceded her in death in 1964.  On December 
26, 1987, Bernice was united in marriage to Edwin Burkhard in Ubly.  Bernice 
was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, and enjoyed playing 
cards, polka dancing, gardening, cooking and baking.  Bernice always enjoyed 
a good joke and loved to laugh, her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

Bernice is survived by her husband Edwin Burkhard of Harbor Beach, and her 
children; James Gosdzinski and his wife Marilyn of Brownstown, Michigan, 
Kelley Geiger and her husband Bruce of Bad Axe, and Terry Gosdzinski and his 
wife Kelly of Taylor.  Step Children Greg Burkhard and his wife Kathy of 
Wadhams, Ron Burkhard and his wife Judy of Traverse City, and Renee Ezak and 
her husband Jim of Harbor Beach.  Eight Grandchildren, seven step 
grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. T 
hree Brothers: Sylvester Zurek and his wife Marie of Walled Lake, Chester 
Zurek of Livonia, and Marvin Zurek and his wife Grace of Caseville.  Bernice 
was preceded in death by her brothers Walter, Elmer, Leo and Ray Zurek, and 
sisters Connie Mazure and Irene Lemke.

Funeral Mass for Bernice will be Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11 am in Our Lady 
of Lake Huron Catholic Church, with Fr. William Spencer officiating.  Burial 
will follow in the OLLH Church Cemetery.  Visitation for Bernice will be 
Thursday from 3-9pm in the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach.  Visitation 
on Friday will be in the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 
11am.  A Rosary service will take place Thursday at 7:30 pm in the funeral 
home.  Memorials for Bernice may be given to Heartland Hospice.  Published
