Edwin Charles Burkhard
September 5, 1926 - August 18, 2015
EDWIN C. BURKHARD, age 88 of Harbor Beach, passed away August 18, 2015 at 
Meadow Lane Assisted Living, of Bad Axe, with his family by his side.  He 
was born on September 5, 1926 in Harbor Beach, to the late Alex and Edith 
(Gerstenschlager) Burkhard. Edwin and Grace Friedland were united in 
marriage on September 14, 1946 in Port Hope.  She preceded him in death on 
December 8, 1986.  Edwin is a retired employee from Hercules Inc. with over 
40 years of service.  He was member of Zion Lutheran Church. Edwin loved 
hunting, gardening, and working in his workshop making craft for his family, 
and also enjoyed his grandchildren very much.

He is survived by his children: Greg Burkhard and his wife Kathy of West 
Virginia, Ron Burkhard and his wife Judy of Traverse City, and Renee Ezack 
and her husband Jim of Harbor Beach. 7 grandchildren: Lisa, Lori, Russell, 
Rob, James, Jeremiah, and Jared, 6 great grandchildren: Matthew, Molly, 
Benjamin, Joshua, Deia and Maleah. His brothers: Alex Burkhard Jr., Leslie 
Burkhard, Delbert Burkhard and Robert Burkhard, his sisters: Emily Smith and 
Elaine LaBelle, and Beverly Forstner.  Edwin was preceded in death by an 
infant brother Carl, and brothers: Roland, Harold and Harley Burkhard.

Funeral Services for Edwin will be Friday, August 21, 2015 at 1pm at Zion 
Lutheran Church of Harbor Beach, with Rev. Ron Schultz officiating. Burial 
will follow in Rock Falls Cemetery. Visitation for Edwin will be Thursday, 
from 2-8pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Friday 
will be at the church beginning at 12 noon until time of services at 1 pm. 
Memorials can be given to the Family Discretionary Fund.  Published Ramsey

Catholic Church in Ubly.
