The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. _____________________________________________________________________ Henry Booms Ruth Aug 26 -- Henry Booms, 86, Detroit, former prominent resident of Sherman Twp, Huron County, who had 137 living descendants, died Monday in Central Hosp, Detroit, after a 2 week illness. Born Dec 26, 1865, in Westphalia, Germany, Mr Booms came to the U S when he as a child. He lived in TN and OH before coming to Huron County when he was young. He worked 2 years as a lumberman on the AuSable river in northern MI. He and Miss Anna Mausolf were married May 5, 1890 in SS Peter and Paul Cath ch, Ruth, in the first marriage performed in the church after it was moved to Ruth from Sherman Twp. Mrs Booms died Nov 9, 1938. Mr Booms farmed in Sherman Twp until he retired in 1928 to Ruth. He moved in May 1948 to Detroit. He was former treasurer of Sherman Twp and former moderator of Sherman No 3 school 10 years. He was a member of the Holy name Society of SS Peter and Paul church. Mr Booms is survived by 4 sons, Edward, Ruth; Frank and Marcus, both of Harbor Beach and Norman, Detroit; 3 daughters, Mrs Michael Wolschlager and Mrs David Page both of Harbor Beach and Mrs Charles(Ida) Wolschlager. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thurs in SS Peter and Paul ch. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Remains are in Edward Zinger funeral home, Ubly. Huron Tribune Date unknown
