Herman Booms
Ruth - Funeral services were held Monday for Herman Booms, 88, retired 
Sherman Twp farmer. He died Fri in his home after a 3 week illness. Mr 
Booms was born Nov 30, 1867 in Germany. He went to Ohio with his family 
when he was 6 years old. The family later lived in Tennessee and they 
came to this vicinity when Mr Booms was 20 years old. He lived the last 
27 years in Ruth. He and Miss Theresa Wolschlager were married Nov 21, 
1893 in SS Peter & Paul Cath ch in Ruth. They observed their 32nd wedding 
anniversary in 1955. Mr Booms was a member of Holy Name society. He is 
survived by his widow, a brother, John Booms, Harbor Beach, and nephews 
and nieces. Services were in SS Peter & Paul church. Burial was in the 
church cemetery.
