John Booms, 87
retired Sherman twp farmer died Mon in Harbor Beach Comm Hosp after a 
short illness. He was born Sept 11, 1875, Cleveland OH. He lived in OH 
and TN before moving to Huron co in 1887. Mr Booms and Elizabeth Bischer 
were married in SS Peter & Paul Cath ch, Ruth in 1899. Mrs Booms died 
Oct 24, 1932. Mr Booms was a member of the Holy Name Society of St Anthony 
Cath ch, Helena. Survivors are 6 sons, Roman, Arthur, Wilfred, Leroy, 
Leonard and Bernard, all of Harbor Beach; 7 daughters, Mrs Leo Roggenbuck, 
Mrs Norman Geiger, Mrs Bernard Messing and Mrs Clarence Geiger all of Harbor 
Beach, Mrs Frank Dropiewski, Port Hope, Mrs Elmer Messing, Minden City and 
Mrs Frank Messing, Carsonville; 114 grandchildren; 133 great grandchildren. 
Four granddaughters are Cath nuns and 1 granddaughter presently attending 
a convent; 3 grandsons are in the seminary studying for priesthood and 1 
grandson in a seminary studying for brotherhood. Remains are in Zinger 
funeral home, Ruth. Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Thurs in St Anthony Cath 
Ch, Helena with Burial in the church cemetery.
