These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ___________________________________________________________________ Magnus Brown, Jr. Magnus Brown, Jr., son of Mr. And Mrs. Magnus Brown, Sr. Bad Axe, was driver of the car in which he and three other county youths lost their lives in a traffic accident near Detroit on Saturday, October 21. Others who died from the accident were Betty May Britt, 14, Bad Axe, and Chester Peplinski, 17 and his sister, Gladys Peplinski, 15, Ubly. Brown was born in Bad Axe, January 25, 1928 and is survived by his parents, three brothers, Pfc. Napoleon Brown in Italy, Lee Brown, Port Hope, and Charles Brown, at home; and the three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Morley and Mrs. Lyle Morley, both of HarborBeach, and Gloria Brown, at home. He enlisted in the Merchant Marine in May 1944 and served on an iron ore freighter on the Great Lakes and returned to his home in Bad Axe about October 1. Driver of the other car in the accident is being held on four manslaughter charges as the result of the crash. dz
