Clor August 19, 1900 - October 7, 1971 Joseph J. Clor, 71, of 9674 Atwater Road, Sherman Township, retired farmer and carpenter, died Thursday in Harbor Beach Community Hospital after a long illness. He was born August 19, 1900, in Ruth, and had been a life-long resident of the area. He attended St. Peter & Paul's Catholic School, Ruth. Mr. Clor married Clara Messing, February 27, 1924, in St. Peter & Paul Church. He is survived by his widow; five sons, Fabian, Forestville; Luke, Harbor Beach; Gabriel, Sterling Heights, Mich.; Benjamin, Detroit, and Gerald, Davison, Mich.; four daughters, Mrs. Marie Klee and Mrs. Regina Hanselman, both of Ruth; Mrs. Jo Ann Slavick, Oak Park, Mich., and Miss Patricia Clor, at home; two sisters, Sister Louis Gonzaga, O.P., Detroit, and Mrs. Catherine Messing, Ruth; two brothers, Leo Clor, Ruth, and Jacob Clor, Harbor Beach; 52 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Remains will be in Bowen Funeral Home, Minden City, after noon Saturday. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Catholic Church, Forestville, with Rev. Walter Echkert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
