William Robert Cloutier
April 4, 1938 - August 6, 1997
William R. Cloutier Sr., 59, of Harbor Beach passed away Tuesday August 5, 1997 
at his home following a short illness.  He was born April 4, 1938 in Detroit to 
Isabelle (Schellinger) Cloutier and the late Wilfred Cloutier.  He and Lavonne 
Dropiewski were married September 26, 1959 in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic 
Church in Harbor Beach.  He served in the US Air Force for four years.  He was 
an employee of the Lyntex Manufacturing in Ubly and was a member of Our Lady of 
Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach.   He was the former owner-operator 
of the Wellock Inn Bed and Breakfast in Harbor Beach.

He is survived by his wife, Lavonne Cloutier of Harbor Beach; three daughters, 
Dawn Cloutier of Cleveland, Ohio,  Michelle Jowett, of Port Huron, Lynette 
Cloutier, of Royal Oak; two sons: William (Brenda) Cloutier Jr. of Grosse Ile, 
Scott (Ayako) Cloutier of Okinawa, Japan; five grandchildren; his mother, 
Isabelle Cloutier of Port Huron; one brother Paul Cloutier of Marysville; two 
sisters, Joanne Deising of Marysville, and Patti Cloutier of Port Huron.  He was 
preceded in death by a son Todd Cloutier. 

Funeral services were at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church.  Rev. Edward 
Konieczka, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Memorials 
may be given to the Friends for Life Hospice, American Cancer Society or the 
OLLH Church.  God decided it was time to take his favorite handyman to his side.  
The gates of heaven will never be in disrepair!  His clever wit and handicraft 
gifts from the heart will leave cherished memories.  Published Harbor Beach 
Times Thursday August 14, 1997.

Note:  Although his obituary says he died August 5, the Social Security Death 
Index, the Social Security Claims Index and the Veterans Administration show his 
date of death as August 6.
