Edwin John (Kucharczyk) Cook
November 29, 1907 - September 27, 1988
Edwin J. Cook, 80, Sigel Township, died Tuesday, September 27, 1988 at 
Harbor Beach Community Hospital, after an apparent heart attack.  He was 
born November 29, 1907 in Sigel Township, son of the late Frank E. and 
Martha (Miller) Cook.  He was married to Irene Balcer, May 30, 1968 in 
Harbor Beach.  Mr. Cook was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lake Huron Church, 
Harbor Beach.  He sailed the Great Lakes for a time, then worked at Hercules 
Inc., Harbor Beach, for 25 years, before retiring in 1971. 

Surviving are his wife, Irene, Harbor Beach; two stepdaughters Shirley Jahn, 
Ruth and Beatrice Chinoski, Detroit; one step son, Ernie Balcer, Harbor 
Beach; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Sabian Cook, 
Harbor Beach; and two sisters, Laura Pawlowski and Virginia Armstead, both 
of Harbor Beach.  He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. 

Services were held Friday, September 30. at O.L.L.H. Catholic Church, Harbor 
Beach.  Rev. Thomas MaNamara, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the church 
cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were conducted by the Ramsey Funeral Home, 
Harbor Beach, where a scripture service was held on Thursday and a rosary 
was offered by the Daughters of Isabella also on Thursday.  Published Minden 
City Herald Thursday October 6. 1988.
