Robert James Cove December 31, 1928 - October 11, 1960 BAD AXE - Funeral services for Robert Cove, 31, city employee, a victim of a cave-in Tuesday of the trench of a sewer project on South Silver street will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Alden A. MacAlpine funeral Alden home. Rev. Richard R. Kurtz, pastor of United Missionary church, will officiate. Military burial rites will be conducted in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Cove died Tuesday in Hubbard Memorial Hospital after he was freed from the trench, where he was buried to his chin. The remains are in the funeral home. Theodore J, Byarski, 33, buried to the waist in the same mishap, is in the Hospital in a critical condition with a punctured kidney and fractured pelvis. He underwent surgery Tuesday afternoon. Cove was born December 31, 1928 in Verona Township, near Bad Axe. He was a Korean war veteran. He was employed more than 10 years by the City of Bad Axe. He is survived by his widow, the former Lillian Page, a son, Steven 1; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Cove, Bad Axe; three brothers, William, Pontiac, and .Mial and Harry, both of Bad Axe, and three sisters, Mrs. Raymond Gardner, Elkton; Mrs. Neil Terwilliger, Bad Axe, and Mrs. Walter Brandow, Milford, Michigan.
