Rev Manson H Lowe, pastor of the Presbyterian ch, officiated. Burial was in Colfax cemetery. Surviving Mr Capling are his widow, the former Lenore Burns, 2 daughters, Mary Ellen and Suzanne, and 2 sons, Philip and Peter; his father, Alfred Capling, his grandmother, Mrs Mary Ellen Kappler, and a brother William A Capling, all of Bad Axe and a sister, Mrs Vera Lanstrum of Portland OR. Born in Bad Axe, April 21, 1903, Mr Capling lived in Bad Axe all hi life. For a number of years he had been employed by the Detroit Edison company. Quiet and unassuming "Phil" as he was know to his friends, was popular among his associates. He was fond of hunting and other outdoor sports. He had apparent perfect health until a few years ago when he contracted a heart ailment which became steadily worse. Philip Capling Funeral services were held today from the William T Collon funeral home for Philip Capling, 43, who died Mon in Hubbard Mem Hosp after an illness of nearly 2 years. Mr Capling was born April 14, 1903 in Bad Axe. He is survived by his widow, Lenore, 2 daughters, Mary Ellen and Suzanne, and 2 sons, Philip and Peter; his father, Alfred Capling, his grandmother, Mrs Mary Ellen Kappler, and a brother, William A Capling, all of Bad Axe and a sister, Mrs Vera Lanstrum, Portland OR. Mr Capling was an employee of the Detroit Edison Co. Service was conducted by Rev Mansion H Lowe, pastor of the First Presbyterian ch. Burial was in Colfax cemetery. Huron Tribune Date unknown
