Earl James Deer
April 18, 1947 - July 26, 2011

Earl James Deer, age 64 of Port Hope, a retired Rubicon Township Dairy Farmer, 
passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center of Bay City.  
He was born on April 18, 1947 in Harbor Beach to Evelyn (Weiss) Deer and the 
late Harvey Deer.  Earl and Jane Wolschleger were united in marriage on July 
15, 1967 in Ruth at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Earl was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church. He enjoyed going 
to the coffee shop and visiting with friends, farming, hunting, and fishing.  
Earl enjoyed driving tractor during the Port Hope 4th of July Festival, giving 
train rides to children of all ages.  Earl loved to be with his family, 
especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jane of Port Hope; children, Glenn (Courtney) Deer 
of Harbor Beach, Dan Deer of Port Hope, Randy Deer of Goodrich, and Kevin 
(Kathy) Deer of Harbor Beach; his mother, Evelyn Deer of Harbor Beach; twelve 
grandchildren, Jacob, Colton, Dakota, Skylar, Riley, Baylee, Cody, Jacquelynn, 
Ashley, Colin, Jillian and Keltie, and his siblings, Jean (Dave) Reinke of 
Mount Morris and Mary Will of Caro.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tonya Deer, and one daughter-in-
law, Amy Deer.

Funeral Mass for Earl was held at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, with 
Fr. William Spencer who officiated.  Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery.  Funeral 
arrangements were handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach.
