Depcinski, 89, of Bad Axe passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, at Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe. He was born on March 14, 1928, in Bad Axe to the late Leo Joseph and Agnes Lucy (Glaza) Depcinski. He married Rita Booms on October 20, 1951, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helena. Ray was a graduate of the Appin Country School. He farmed with his family and worked for over 50 years as a salesman for DeKalb and he and Rita were able to travel to Hawaii, Jamaica and Mexico through their awards program. Ray was a lifelong parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly. He was a 4th degree member of the Bad Axe Knights of Columbus Council No. 1546. Ray enjoyed crop tours, Polish music, riding his gator and eating ice cream at anytime. He cherished time spent with his family and friends. Ray is survived by his wife of 65 years Rita of Bad Axe; his children Richard (Cindy) Depcinski of Bad Axe, Mary (Rand) Smith of Lucas, Ohio, Nancy (Dean) Carpenter of Caro, Betty (Joe) Myers of Gladwin, Carol (Bob) Osantoski of Bad Axe, Charles (Therese) Depcinski of Bad Axe, Janet (Kevin) Sharkey of Gilbert, Arizona, Susan (Greg) Krozek of Filion, Sharon (Jeff Krisel) Depcinski of Grand Rapids; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister Jardine Zurek of Bad Axe. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Depcinski and Clarence Depcinski. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, October 5 at Good Shepherd Parish, St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor of St. Isidore Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. John Church only. There will be a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Ray's family requests you consider making a donation to the local food pantry at Good Shepherd Parish run by the Ubly/Sheridan Knights of Columbus Council No. 12850, 4470 N.
