Dipcenski met with terrible and sudden death at the barn raising of Omar Edwards, three miles south and one and one half miles west of Bad Axe. While the men were at work and had nearly completed raising the frame, Charles fell from the beam down into the basement, a distance of about 24 feet. It is said that he struck in four different places, each strike causing a serious injury. Kind and loving hands picked him up and did all in their power to assist the unfortunate one. Messages were at once sent for doctors to be in readiness at the hospital. Albert Kolberg's auto was secured as soon as possible and he was hurried away to the hospital, whre all believed if there was a ray of hope for life, he would find it. Relatives came as soon as possible; Fr Van Dyke came to administer the last blessing, but all was of no avail. Is about two hours Charles quietly went to his long rest. He never recovered after the fall and remained unconscious till death. His body was badly broken and sustained many injuries. The funeral was held from the family residence and the Cath ch in Sheridan, Sun at 9 o'clock. Fr Dolan officiating. His remains were laid to rest at the side of his father in the cemetery near the church. Almost 80 teams followed the remains besides five automobile loads and the church was filled to its capacity. Charles was beloved by all who knew him. He was the oldest son of Ameil and Caroline Depcinski. He was 23 years old the 24th day of May and leaves his mother, two brothers, Aloysius and Lee, two sisters, Aggie and Mrs Gust Wolfslager; two grandmothers and one grandfather, besides many aunts and uncles and cousins to mourn his sad and untimely death. Six girls dressed in white carried the beautiful floral offerings given to Charles as a last remembrance. Six cousins of almost his age acted as pall bearers. Lovingly and sadly his remains were given to the earth. His soul has entered Heaven. Charles is with us no more. We loved him, yes we loved him. But Angels loved him more; And they have gently called him. To yonder Shining Shore. The Golden Gates are opened, A gentle voice said come; And with Farewell unspoken, He calmly entered home.
